Useful and functional.
I used this to make side dishes for Thanksgiving and it performed like a champ -- it heated up VERY quickly. I have never used an induction hob before. I have multiple Staub cocottes so the round shape works well for the pans I have. I did find the temperature interface to be a bit confusing -- the slide-out controls are very sleek at the expense of clarity. Read the included instructions (which are clear) to avoid making a mistake.

Staub dropped the ball on this one
I used it to prepare a large batch of slow-cooked green beans. I followed the recommended cook time and the beans did not cook completely. In fact, some beans remained cool throughout the entire slow-cooking process. This gadget turned out to be quite an expensive disappointment.

Defective on arrival
On manual it goes from 210 degrees (no boil) to 215 (fast boil) with nothing in between. So as long as you don't expect to simmer anything it will work.I returned it for a commercial induction cooktop, for the same price with metal construction, better control, and 1800 watts of power.Thank you Amazon for accepting my return.

Gimmicky and defective.
Terrible. Don’t waste your money. The browning function just burns food and the slow cooker doesn’t work at all. My pork loin was completely undercooked and tough after 4 hours. Going into trash. Wish I had kept the packaging I’d send it back.

Not Good AT All. I DO NOT Recommend This Product
I received this product for Christmas and wish I would have kept the box. It’s terrible! It is an induction cooktop with a separate plastic insulating ring. That was my first disappointment. The instruction manual is garbage. No real information on cook temperatures, just very scarce information on the presets. The slow cook function seems faulty. On low, it never made it up to a safe temperature, the top and sides of the pot remained lukewarm at best (after 4 hours it should have reached at least 180, it was still between 140 and 150 degrees) using the 5.5qt Staub Dutch oven. Turning the slow cooker to high wasn’t much better and after eight hours and nothing was cooking, I gave up. The braise preset BOILS the food rapidly to the point that I kept having to add liquid every few minutes. There is no way to adjust any of the presets. Using the sear function to brown the roast I was attempting to make was a harrowing experience, it was simply too high and was burning. No way to turn it down! On manual, like another reviewer said, it goes from a barely warm simmer to rapid boil with no in between. It is my opinion that this is a piece of gimmickry junk created to sell more Staub cookware. I have great success using my Staubs in an oven or on the stove. So disappointed. I wouldn’t even give this to someone. It’s going in the trash.
