Quality meets affordability
Theres a ton of good to say here. Light is bright, consistent, steady, and clean. The battery is on par with industry standard of about 1.5 hours, but being rechargeable is a huge plus. Its simple and intuitive to install and use. Fits a wide variety of systems. Form and function work hand in hand on this as its well designed and comes with a good amount of mounting options. I didnt notice it getting too hot but i also do t use it for long periods of time at a time, use it as intended and shouldnt have issues.

Great light, but....
As of 09-06-25 its still hard to find a holster for. Otherwise no complaints other than it never really tightens down solid on any of my polymer frames. The lug means it wont come off, but it does have some forward/back play.

TLR1-HL-X is a huge upgrade over the TLR1-HL and should be purchased
TLR1-HL-X can be sold in two configurations; with SL-B9 batteries OR with CR123A batteries. The SL-B9 battery has a USB-C port to recharge the battery while the CR123A is a one time use. I would heavily opt towards the SL-B9 batteries as you will be able to use them time and time again with recharging.I swapped out my TLR1-HL for the latest, TLR1-HL-X. I loved the brightness of the TLR1-HL, but was not a big fan of the operation. If you were a right hand shooter, you had to use the support hand to keep the light engaged while shooting(in temp mode). Other clunky ways of using the TLR1-HL included flipping up the switch with the support hand thumb (not easy) or tilting the handgun into your support hand to engage to always on. In running multiple low light shooting drills with the TLR1-HL, this was not optimal. Where the TLR1-HL lags, the TLR-1 HL-X makes up. With super simple support hand thumb (right handed shooter) the TLR-1 HL-X light is engaged and stays on. This allows for quick maneuverability of turning on the TLR-1 HL-X light and actually using your support hand for a full grip. This is a massive upgrade over the TLR1-HL which shooters would use the support thumb to keep the light on, but suffer proper grip with the support hand. The light of the TLR1-HL-X is noticeably brighter then the TLR1-HL. I used rechargeable CR123A batteries in the TLR1-HL and with the same rechargeable CR123A batteries found the TLR1-HL-X eats up the life of the rechargeable CR123A faster then the TLR1-HL. It is a small price to pay and considering you can frond load the batteries without taking the light system off.Holster FitOnce the TLR1-HL-X was installed, it would not fit in the same holster made for a TLR1-HL. My sidearm would stop a bit short of fitting all the way into the holster. However I have an adjustable holster which allows for small adjustments in width. I was able to change the spacers in the holster and once I did, the TLR1-HL-X fit like a glove. If you do not have an adjustable holster, you will probably will have a challenge in using it with the TLR1-HL-X that is designed to fit the TLR1-HL.

Would buy again
VERY BRIGHT! awesome product
M**.
just get the try and true 1HL
Had lots of hope in this new product. The light pattern is better, you got more peripheral than the regular 1 HL. Discovered that it overheats when use the SL-B9 Rechargeable Battery, it will either shuts off or flashes one time and went into low power mode……The front door has fly open several times and batteries flying out...yes I did make sure the door was securely latched...Last but not least, it does not fit your current holster, its catching on the battery release lever on the side....They lie about that part right on the packaging ...not cool at all...

Incredibly Bright & Reliable!
The Streamlight TLR-1 HL-X is a total game changer. Mounted it easily on my pistol, and wow—the brightness is insane! The 1000 lumens light up the entire room or outdoor area, crystal clear visibility every time.I’ve run it through tough conditions, both training and tactical scenarios, and it's performed flawlessly. Solid build, easy-to-use controls, and battery life has been excellent. Definitely my go-to weapon light from now on. If you need reliability and performance, grab this one—you won’t regret it!

Good and Bad
Good size and build quality- Bright. Nice battery change featureBad- comes with several rail adaptors, which include two 1913 picatinny rails. Unfortunately it doesn’t fit tactical rail size of 3.50-3.65mm, Both my Atlas G. Have that.

Terrific upgrade worth the money
This is a significant product improvement over the older models with the toggle switch. This is more ambidextrous and works with a wider variety of weapon systems. The issue was always reaching the switch, but now you can have a long and short switch, or whatever you wish. For weapons like the H&K pistols or the railed 1911, this is a game changer for us short handed folks. I also love the new switch for access to the battery compartment. The texture on the switches are very practical and absolutely genius. Whether you like to PUSH the switch or press down, the switch is positive and easy to actuate. The only disadvantage I could see in this is if the switch were bumped accidentally. Brightness is the same as the old TLR1 I have, as best I can tell. The attachment mechanism is pretty much identical, and the battery life is strictly dependent on how you use the light. If you have light-bearing holsters for the TLR1, this light will fit in those without any modification, from my experience.
