Very effective
It’s the most reliable bug repellent I have used—better than DEET. The scent is pleasant. Does a good job moisturizing. I will definitely continue to use this product.

Did the job...
This worked very well on a fishing trip up to Wisconsin this June...and they were having a REALLY bad year for mosquitos. I'm pregnant and was looking for something that had the recommended amount of DEET or Picardin...this was the only thing I found that really fit the bill. I knew I would be wearing it every day while on vacation so wanted to avoid anything with too high a percentage of the repellent and this was perfect. It has a pleasant smell to it and both the insect repellent and the sunscreen worked well for me. I still got quite a tan...but I WAS sitting in a boat all day getting not only the full sun but also the reflection from the water...but I did not burn. The bottle was a little smaller than I was expecting (don't know why...the size is listed right on there so it's not like it was advertised differently) so if you want this to be used by more than one person I would either get a bigger size or multiple bottles.Only thing I disliked about it (and this is very minor) is that I did feel greasy at the end of the day and REALLY wanted to wash it all off immediately when coming in for the night...but didn't because it was impossible to keep the mosquitos out of the house and I didn't want bites while I was sleeping. I don't think this product is any worse than others in this respect...it just kept me from really "loving" it.

Smells great.... but not to the bugs...
I bought this product on the recommendation of my coworkers. This summer has been ridiculous with the rain and overabundance of mosquitoes. Every time I go outside at work or to exercise I end up getting eaten up. For whatever reason, I just must really smell good to mosquitoes! I got to the point where I was afraid to leave the house because the bites were becoming more numerous and the itching was severe. I initially purchased an "Off" brand product, containing DEET, which works really well- but boy does it stink! I did not like smelling like that all day and was desperate to find something else. I gave the Avon product a try and am very pleased with the results. This smells more like sunscreen and is not strong in the least. As long as I put it on, it has protected me from the mosquitoes and my number of bites has drastically decreased. Since it is a lotion, it is much easier to apply to specific areas such as arms or neck without getting it everywhere- and you are not inhaling half of it like with the spray on products. Really, the only downside is that you seem to have to apply this more frequently than the DEET containing products. About every 4 hours if you are going to be outside in mosquito rich areas. I believe the directions say about every 2 hours, but I found you can go to 4 as long as you are not swimming or getting wet.Highly recommend for anyone that seems to be a delightful dish to a mosquito. The sunscreen is just a bonus. It is easy to use and once it dries you don't feel oily or greasy. Thank you Avon!

Good sunscreen, not a bug repellent
I bought this for when I went camping. I thought it would be a great two-in-one product so that I wouldn't need to pack too much. The formula was really nice. My family and I noticed that it helped us with sun-protection. But mosquitoes definitely bothered us as if we didn't have any bug repellent on at all. I had siblings visit the campsite and didn't think anything of the bugs bothering us at all until they decided to use their own bug repellent. Immediately, the mosquitoes went away. It was then that I decided to keep their repellent for the remainder of our camping trip. I was so sad, I was really routing for this to work, but it didn't keep any mosquitoes away from us at the beach or at our campsite. Keep in mind, we were at a modern campsite that was very well taken cared of and only 15 mins away from the city. The amount of bugs was probably equal to or a little more than what you should experience at a wooded city park.

Essential DEET-free repellant w/SPF
I hate mosquitoes with such a fiery passion. Any bug that bites me, my skin immediately swells into hives. So when I was backpacking, someone had recommended this as repellant against both mosquitoes and sand flies that was DEET-free, so I could put it on even at night and not worry about my levels of DEET-exposure. AND it doubles as sun screen and lasts for hours? That's even BETTER, since I often forget to reapply or get lazy about applying multiple things to my skin. Most importantly - this WORKS for me. I've been able to dodge getting eaten alive (for the most part) with this, so this is part of my essential DEET-free mosquito/bug repellant kit.One thing to note: As a long-time swimmer, I'm used to the "oily coating" that these waterproof sunscreens leave you with, but I know that bothers other people. At least this one has a nice scent! Just remember to shake the bottle before use.
