Learning Theories Simplified: ...and how to apply them to teaching 1st Edition

I needed a guide to help refresh my memory on which educational theory went with each author and I am so happy I found this. It's a wonderful guide, giving quick snapshots of each theory. It's in the title, "Learning Theories SIMPLIFIED" so if you need something that goes more in depth, then this isn't for you. It's perfect for keeping in my classroom as a way to refresh my memory and my coworkers memories when we need it and it even introduced me to theories I haven't studied before!

Great little book. I am taking education courses for certification and this book covers all the theorists which keep popping up in the courses. It also has a great section on learning styles and sections on other topics such as mentoring, tutoring, classroom management, lesson planning, and behavior management. A great resource for anyone taking an education course. It simplifies a comprehensive range of theories without oversimplifying them. It also provides examples of how theory can be applied.

An expansion on learning theories with explanations and descriptions that you won’t find in other books. A valuable resource!

I wanted more detail that what is offered in this book. I found what I was looking for in Understanding and Using Educational Theories (Aubrey & Riley).

It's great to think about the practical implications of the learning theories, but I wanted the book to give me a plain English break down of the learning theories in a dense and thorough manner. I purchased the book hoping it could be a great reference for my exams. While the author does provide information regarding learning theories, none of the information provided goes deep enough into the learning theories. I was hoping to find a deep dive into the major learning theories followed by the underlying theories that have emerged as a result. What you get instead is a mix-match of theories spread across multiple categories. This book has potential, it just missed the mark.
