My Mum is drinking more!
My Mum has late stage Alzheimers and my Dad struggles to get her to drink more. I thought I'd try this. The manual is brilliant - exactly how I'd have writtene one - so its easy to set up. I recorded 3 messages - I paraphrased the suggested ones and over time I will change them.Mum is now drinking more. She hears the message, is a bit baffled, realises its my voice and says 'thank you' - then has a drink. And so is Dad! So a brilliant result. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. The only down side is that Dad has to watch carefully that Mum doesn't try to wash the removable unit. And the only improvement I could suggest is to have a 10 minute setting as well - for hot drinks. But deserving of 5 stars.

Droplet drink reminder, needs up
I Have worn a catheter for several years and drinking water throughout the day is therefore most important, however I often forget to drink the 2 any a half litres of water I am supposed to drink each day and suffer as a result. So I purchased the Droplet drink In spite of its high cost. The idea behind this product is a good one however it doesn’t take into account the fact that you have drunk from the cup and its now lighter than it was.when you attached the full pWe

A little pricey, but does the job of encouraging an elderly person to drink more
My father in law is in his nineties and unsurprisingly not as able as he used to be. But probably the biggest issue he has is dehydration. After a little research we found this droplet drink reminder and having decided to get him one looked around for the best deal. I found it on Amazon so had it delivered to me to set up before my wife took it to her father. Set up was straightforward, there's control over how often the voice suggests that he take a drink, and how the lights operate on the base of the unit. It's battery powered, but the first set is still going after a few months of use, which I found surprising. He likes the voice, finds it reassuring and comforting, and it does encourage him to take regular sips of water. Personally I think the price is a tad on the high side, but ok value for what is a very good idea.

Good concept but not ideal for dementia users
Purchased for someone with dementia who is frequently dehydrated. Concept is great, unfortunately she doesn't see the flashing reminders and doesn't acknowledge that the voice reminder is talking to her! The lids would be better if the hole for drinking out of was more visible or coloured in some way, as it's quite difficult to see. Light and easy to hold. Lids fit securely. Haven't checked to see how long drinks stay warm for. Both friends and I have said it would be good for us while working, now we're all at home and can get engrossed in work. Not great for dementia users in my experience, but as previously said the concept is good.

Very poor design
The neoprene seal between the cup and base always fell out when taking it apart for cleaning. Very difficult to reseat. The Volume was nowhere near high enough to attract my wifes attention. Even recording my own message did not raise the volume higher. Frankly if I could give it no stars I would have done.

It works
This is great product, money well spent. My mum has dementia and used to drink very little but the Droplet system has made a huge difference. There are lots of variations to help remind the person to drink. My only concern is that the base is not waterproof but it will warn you when you turn it upside down to put it in the dishwasher.

Broken
Mine was faulty I believe. Returned it. It happened to never light up. This was for my nan, however when it randomly did decide to talk, the voice was that of a volume that could only be heard in a quite room, this is not suitable for a house lived in, with modern day technology where volume is used. I.e, the tv. or even a house where children are in.

Works for my mum's needs.
Bought for my mum who has dementia to remind her to drink. Love that you can record your own messages as the reminders (I found the prerecorded messages somewhat condescending). Settings are straightforward to use and I like that it has a lid with an opening for a straw.
