Amazing find. Perfect solution for iPhone videography
Took a lot of internet research to finally find this little gem. I'm using it on a BeastGrip iPhone 15 Pro set up with a Rode mic and Samsung 2TB SSD. Works perfectly. Because the Rode mic is powered, I can plug both into the Small Rig hub and the iPhone can "see" the Samsung 2TB SSD and the Rode mic. The SmallRig hub has a very clever clip / cold shoe attachment that allows you to slide it into a cold shoe or clip it to your equipment. The cable is nice and short so no extra cable to fiddle with. And, the hub has a charging port so you can charge your iPhone as needed. This is truly one of those niche products that fits the bill perfectly. Even the price was right.

Perfect, passes audio through to Final Cut app
Needed a small hub that would allow me to record to a SSD and also pass audio through to my Final Cut app on my phone. This works flawlessly! Great price too!

Great dongle to work in a cold shoe!
Good dongle that adds massive functionality to phone videographers. It does support apple 4k pro-res 120Hz capture with a fast enough hard drive. I was able to record that level video on an iphone 16 pro max with an SSK hard drive that can do 2000MB/s.

Only 1 of the Ports is USB 3.1, the others are 2.0
I like the size and the build quality feels good. The clip is a really nice add. Transfer speeds seem to be fine, but I am a bit disappointed that only one of the ports is USB 3.1, the others are 2.0 - seriously, how much more would it have cost Small Rig to add two more USB 3 ports?. For me size was the most important thing, is I will keep this, but as my first SmallRig product, I expected better.

Bad quality and poor speeds
I own a few SmallRig products and am generally please with quality. The SmallRig hub is definitely an exception.Upon opening the box, I saw that the internal circuit board and housing had become separated. Not that big of a deal, as it quickly went back together. But after trying to use it with my SmallRig cage, Samsung T7 SSD, external power supply and iPhone, it quickly became clear that this hub has problems.Build quality is lacking - very thin housing in which the end plates come apart to easily in turn exposing the circuit board. This hub could not keep up with the 4K speed of the iPhone video camera. It would either lose communication with the hard drive or cut the video recording within 9 seconds. After taking the hub out and connecting the SSD directly to the IPHONE, 4K recording was flawless. I tried again with many different high quality USB C cables and still the same results with the hubPower pass through with a external battery worked fine.I really wanted to like the hub, but the build quality and advertised speed are not there. I have another small hub from a different company that works just fine in the setup.Returning the product. My hope is SmallRig can introduce a better quality hub in the future to go with the rest of their outstanding lineup.

Must have for your camera rig!
Love this! I use this regularly for me Iphone camera rig setup. It has just the enough ports and power port to charge as well. I've bene able to attach an SSD, charger, and mic. Also, it is designed well so that the main usb-c end fits easily on your phone and doesn't get in the way.

DJI MIC AND SSD T7 STORAGE TEST
I just got it and tried with my s25 ultra, i conected a dji mic and my ssd t7 from samsung, when i only plug in the mic it wont work, my phone will not recognize the mic, if i plug in the ssd and the mic, the mic will work but the ssd will disconect every 10 seconds. So, am not sure if i am missing something here but am gonna return it.

Great for the size, limitations on ports though
Great little USB hub if you understand it only has 1 port capable of USB 3.1/10Gbps and that there is no video supported through that port. So you can't connect a USBC to HDMI out for example. But it does do well to enable me to plug into my iPhone and get extra ports to an external SSD to record video, an external Rode USBC mic, and keep everything powered. I would love for a newer version to include an HDMI out as well as a second 10Gbps port.
