Firstly, I like this very much. Works as intended and seems well constructed.The filter holder fits the Seestar firmly and you can have confidence that it won't fall out.The dew shield mounts onto the filter holder so you need that piece even if you aren't using a filter. That's OK.The collapsable dew shield requires a slight clockwise twist to lock the rings in place. Another twist counterclockwise unlocks the rings to collapse. The collapsed dew shield takes very little storage space.An elegant, well designed 2-in-1 solution.

It does exactly as stated. Each to use. Pictures have gotten cleaner; less “noise” from ambient light and fits in the existing carry case.

The build quality of these 2 items is OK and looks like it will last a while in use. The downsides of both items are the actual fit to the Seestar S50 telescope. The filter holder squeezes into the lens opening and appears to be fairly well held in place, however it does not instill confidence that once a filter is installed the filter will hold through various slew operations or a slight bump to the scope, remember we are talking about filters that have a starting cost of about $130 and can go up to $300, the filter holder did not instill confidence that it would hold during the entirety of the imaging session, I did not like the idea of expensive glass taking a tumble.The collapsable dew shield is a novel approach and implemented well, however, again fitting it to the holder and scope seemed clumsy and did not instill confidence, all fitments are press fit and rely on the user getting the press correct.I used this on one night out but will probably consign both items to the shelf that gathers dust.
