Works great on my Samsung smart tv. Installation was pretty easy.I have an older Bose system and there was no way to hook it up to my tv and this worked 100%. I can even stream music now too, through the Apple Music app.Worth every penny!

It works!
I really don’t know how to rate this little helper. I have an old Bose Lifestyle 5 speaker surround sound, and recently updated my TV. Lo and behold—no RCA inputs on the TV. What to do? YouTube of course. Some guy said this handy gadget would work, but I was skeptical. But, heck it was only $25 on Amazon, so why not? It took some trial and error and the little bit of common sense I have, but it does connect the new with the old. Why does every new electronic product have to use new inputs and outputs? I guess so little gadget makers can exist. My trepidation for the rating is strictly because there are no bells and whistles. It works, that’s it, 4 stars. Done.

Works great!
If you have an A/V amplifer/receiver that is compatible with ARC, but not eArc, this is what you need. Connect the eArc out on the TV to the converter with a HDMI cord. You can power the device with the USB power plug or, as I did, purchase a 5V DC-AC plug. Then, connect the converter to the amp via HDMI or RCA plugs. Very simple. What's great is that the device has a headphone jack, as TVs never do these days. Be advised that you may have to make audio settings on the TV and that the TV volume will control the output level, as it does not with simple ARC.

All OR nothing sound
Made it possible to connect Samsung TV with no optical audio out port to our Sony sound bar. Works as advertised but it's an all or nothing proposition. You either get sound from the TV when the unit is off, OR sound from the sound bar when the unit is on. Even if the sound bar unit is off, you get no sound from the TV unless the converter is turned off. It would be nice if it sensed the sound bar was off and automatically allowed the TV to provide sound. A plus is that the TV USB port provides power to the converter.
