They go on tight like the capped bottles you buy already filled, but they ARE NOT LEAK PROOF! They'll keep water from splashing out but they will dribble if bottle is tilted or layed/stored on it's side. The center cap is removable and after I figured out my local refilling station water stream would go in the hole without splashing all over the place I just leave it on. I use an electric pump that fits the top of the 5 gal bottle with a tube that fits nicely through the hole when snap-cap is removed. Great for transporting bottles in car to the refilling station.Removing these is as futile as the originals on new manufacturer sealed bottles. If you use a system as I do noted above these are great. If you need to remove them every time you refill, then either buy a boat load or look for something else as these do the basic job... sort of.I'll likely buy another set for health reasons to replace the ones I currently use once I've torn the last one off to sanitize the bottle tops for GP. YMMV. A little pricey to throw away every time you refile, otherwise they're great used as noted!

I was looking for reusable cabs to refill my water bottles. And they thought that these Would be an excellent choice for me too use. In this process, unfortunately, they turned out to be duds. They are not functionable to remove after placing them on the bottle. You're either going to have to put a hole in them, or do like I did cut them off.So essentially, I bought these caps and wasted my money.

Honest purchase with honest review.Ok hear me out it's a pain to take off but it keeps the water in the jug even when they are stored on their side but once you figure out how to take them off they become easier so still holding the water in the jug amazing product definitely do not buy anything that's twist on it leaks.
