Just really nice to eat

I confess I had never heard of the brand "Zest Delites" until recently and as such it should come as no surprise that this is my first time with this specific 'Crunchy Corn Snacks by Zest Delites, Sea Salt Roasted Corn, 20 gr x 20 Packs' variety of their products.They arrive in an outer cardboard box and when you open the box you see these little packets arranged in four rows of five packs. They sit loosely, but are packed in there pretty tightly. The bags are an unavoidably small size though however. The bags - including superfluous outer packaging - are 14cms long and 6cms wide. Of the 14cms of length, only approximately 8cms of it is actually product, the rest is just foil packaging.I cut one bag open with scissors, there is a smoky 'roast' scent and indeed flavour. The pieces are literally little sweetcorn pieces that have been roasted. To me and my palate however, the "Sea Salt" of it all is drowned out by the smoky roast taste of the corn itself. I think there are two ways of looking at this. You could argue that the Sea Salt is an accompaniment or companion flavour rather than the main event. The other way of looking at it is the more cynical way, that it is a waste if the flavour is overpowered by the corn itself. I have to be honest - whilst I do enjoy the smoky roast flavour I cannot help but come down a little on the cynical side. I am 'whelmed' by the Sea Salt aspect.Overall my opinion of these 'Crunchy Corn Snacks by Zest Delites, Sea Salt Roasted Corn, 20 gr x 20 Packs' is a little mixed. As someone who likes roast and smoky flavours I enjoyed the taste ultimately. I also enjoyed the novelty of the corn and they were pretty moreish. The downsides for me are the small pack size and the fact that the Sea Salt flavour got swallowed up by everything else. I think all things considered that a four star review is fair and accurate.

Great value for money

I will admit I was rather surprised when I saw these as while I have obviously had corn in a variety of different forms I had never had them roasted like these with a simple sea salt 'flavouring' added on top. The packets are relatively small so definitely intended as a snack but still pretty nice, they do indeed have a good crunch to them without being overly hard and the sea salt adds a good flavour to them. They could be compared to salted peanuts in a way, I feel like that was the direction that they were going for with these. As someone that likes trying new things this is one of those things I can recommend to people to give a try to.

Vegan and gluten free.A few things to keep in mind:⛔ Contains palm oil as the primary vegetable oil.⛔ At 2.5% salt content, they might be too salty for those watching their sodium intake (160mg per pack).

I LOVE 'em. Delicious little corny nuggets. Baked to perfection, lightly salted, slightly puffy, satisfyingly crispy. These are better than crisps.. Bold statement, I know. Bolder still, I think they're better than salted peanuts.Things I very much appreciate -1 - Awesome packaging, it's like a gift box, filled with corn snacks. I mean, you could give this as a gift. It's really nicely designed and presented, like a presentation type box. A lot of effort has been put into presenting this corn well, an unnecessary amount of effort, but it has paid off because now I seriously think this is a classy gift, I would present this to my high-society friends, without embarrassment.2 - Sensible portion sizes, at 20g per pouch, I find these to be just the perfect size for a tasty little snack.. No need to reseal the bag, no need to stuff yourself with handfuls of the things. One bag is just the right size for a satisfying salty treat.3 - Relatively light, at 89 calories per 20g bag, they're a lighter option than many other snacks. Looking at the leading brand of crisps, you know which one, their reduced calorie baked crisps come in 22g/96calorie bags.. Now, maybe you like those baked crisp things, but personally, I think they're HORRENDOUS, and potentially a CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY, whereas these corn treats are utterly delightful.. They're better for you and they taste better.4 - Gluten free, I am one of a significant minority of people for whom gluten is really no fun. I don't get any amusing gastrointestinal symptoms, I don't turn a funny colour, or swell up like a bullfrog, or anything cool like that. I just get really bad acid indigestion, and feel rundown.. There are all kinds of foods that should be gluten-free, but that just aren't, why do Rice Krispies have gluten in them? Why do supermarkets make their "corn" tortillas with wheat flour?? This is all very frustrating to me, so I do like the simplicity of the ingredients here. Somehow, the manufacturer has managed to avoid inserting gluten for no obvious reason. Thank you.So, all in all, I think these are great, delicious, healthy, all kind of other superlatives etc.. I strongly recommend you buy them, either for yourself, or as a gift for a distinguished friend/family member.
