No more power cycling issues with my Android auto T-box set up!
This solved my always powered on carlinkit adapter with carlinkit IA t-box power cycling problem. This set up allowed me to split the power to both units while allowing a separate and sustainable usb power source to the Carlinkit tbox to remain adequately powered and stop the power recycling issues I was experiencing trying to power both units on the same usb power source.

Essential for pre-2025 Ioniq 5
Works great on my 2024 Ioniq 5 and a wireless Apple CarPlay adapter. It powers off the adapter when I turn off my car.

Works as intended!
Needed this because in my Hyundai Ioniq 5 the car doesn’t turn off the usb data port so my wireless CarPlay adapter wouldn’t shut off. Using this with. 12v usb adapter shuts it down when the car shuts off.

Almost perfect
I was looking forward to this item to simplify my connection to my head unit so I could get android auto to provide seamless audio playback my wireless had glitches, and the direct cable connection didn't support enough power to keep my phone charged. The hope was for this cable to support fast charging to my Phone but sadly that didn't work out. But I know the phone is getting way more juicer than before so the long trips won't kill my battery using maps, spotify or YouTube.

Worked perfect with my android auto dongle to fix power drops I was experiencing with one USB port alone.

Worked perfectly for my Ioniq 6
I have a 2025 Ioniq 6. I bought an adapter to allow me to do wireless Android Auto. It worked great, except that my phone kept trying to connect to it when the car was off in my garage and I was sitting on my couch. It turns out that the Ioniq 6 has an idiosyncrasy that the "primary" USB port stays powered on even when the car is off. The connection is unsuccessful because the infotainment system does not have power, but that would cause infinite(?) retries. This cable provided the perfect solution by powering the USB wireless adapter from a different USB port that turns off when the car is off. Thank you to The Ioniq Guy for suggesting it.

It mostly works
It works as advertised on my Atoto radio on carplay. It charges faster than my radio, but so far its only kept it as the same percentage with various other chargers. I decided to return it and see if i can get a better radio.

Does not work
This POS does not work. Phone is a Samsung S24U. Following the wiring diagram, I plugged a USB A-C cable into the open socket, the "head" of the unit into my car's USB port and the hard-wired USB-A plug into a 35w 12v socket, and the one I attached into my phone. Phone says "plugged in for charging only", Android Auto starts up and I get my phone connection for about 30 seconds, then it disconnects If I plug the phone directly into the same 35w 12v power-only socket, it fast-charges properly without any warning notices. If I plug the phone directly into the car's USB socket, Android Auto works flawlessly (but does not provide enough power for modern smartphones).
