Great Speakers! I have a lot to say so I will break this out in categories. For context about me, I am a hobby musician. I’ve dabbled in music production, so I feel I have a relatively trained ear. I am no “audiophile” because I know that is an endless money pit for diminishing returns. 1) Sound Quality Chefs kiss, these sound really good for the size. I don’t know the exact rolloff frequency, but it seems below around 120hz is where they start to get quieter. For the size, I can’t really complain, it’s impressive for these 4” woofers. I did buy the Kanto Sub8 to pair with these which really completed the setup. I would definitely consider pairing these with a sub at some point if you feel that is missing. When setting EQ for these in my room, I did have to notch down the 400hz range as it was a touch muddy there on some songs. -2/3db at 400hz really let the upper mids sing more. Overall a very neutral sound though. Also, definitely get some stands of any kind. Will help sound quality. Volume is adequate for a 12’x12’ room too. 2) Appearance I was a little worried about them looking cheap from the photos, but I can confirm that in-person they look really good despite being plastic. The only thing I don’t like is the seam in the assembly is pretty noticeable and towards the front. Small nit pick though. 3) I/O It’s a little lackluster in this area. There is no standard aux, optical, or turntable input. Definitely look at other Kanto speakers if you plan to buy turntable speakers because some of their other speakers have a turntable amp built in. So for a PC speaker(my use case), the USB-C is great. RCA is good for pairing with other sound equipment. 4)Price I definitely think the current MSRP of $450 is a little high for these. If paying $450 I’d definitely spend more time comparing to other speakers to see if these are right for you. I’d be a little more critical of these at $450. However, I got them for $330 which definitely tips these into a very competitive and compelling option. They seem to go on sale for $350 very often. 5)Misc The only thing I wish they had was a variable cutoff frequency for the sub out. It’s set to 80hz, but I wish I could play around with it more. However, I don’t think this speaker is for the “True Audiophile” and the 80hz sub out works well with the Kanto Sub8. Also, the power supply is external… which if that’s the trafeoff for how nice they look, I won’t knock it. Would’ve been nice to not have to worry about a power brick. Not too big of a brick. 6) Conclusion Overall, I love these, I am very happy with them. They are just pleasant to listen to. My very first listen I was telling myself “Oh, alright, they sound decent, noting crazy. I’ll listen for a while and see if I want to return them” Then I just kept wanting to listen to them more and more and more. I love them! They are just nice to listen to. I don’t get listening fatigue like I do with other speakers and headphones I own. If you are a casual music enjoyer who thinks $350 isn’t expensive to you, you’ll be very happy with them!

This is a huge change from my AudioEngine+ speakers. When I first turn them on it was night and day, being in front of them feels like a mini concert, here's what I like: Pros: 1) The sound is crystal clear and the bass is perfect. Best pair of desk speakers I have ever bought hands down. 2) I like that the volume knob is in front. 3) I like how the build is rock solid, it doesn't feel like cheap plastic speakers. 4) I like how the cord connecting the both speakers just clicks-in and is very long, my audioengine speakers they had this screw were you would have to fit a copper wire in and squeeze the screw between the metal screw and the speaker, which was very annoying. 5) I like how it comes with rubber feet so they don't slide around the desk. 6) I like how it comes with a color code LED, yellow light means you're connected to the PC, blue light means it's ready to pair with your device. I use an iPad, I like how all you have to do is set it to blue LED and play music from your iPad and that it pairs automatically. Things I don't like: 1) Doesn't come with a USB-A - USB-C cord, if you want to plug into your PC then you have to buy it separately. 2) The knob doesn't have a stop point, so you always have to remember to turn it down before playing it otherwise you get a jump scare. 3) I wish there was a way to adjust the bass manually on these speakers, sometimes the bass can be a bit overwhelming especially if a song is designed to have lots of bass. But that's okay, you just have to adjust the bass on PC or on iPad which is easy enough. Did you notice I still gave it 5 stars? Yeah, the quality overrides all the little things that I found wrong with it!

Let me begin with acknowledging that these are decent speakers overall. Built in dac is nice, a lot of connectivity options and I kinda liked this awkwardly simple design. However, there was something wrong with how they sounded. These are praised for low ends for their size but I didn’t get any “juice” from them. Lower end was a bit dirty while highs were too bright and middle was rather thin. EQ helped a bit but not by much. I even ordered a Kanto sub8 to remove some of low ends to open them more but it made it worse. Sub had rather booming sound and it was hard to find a good volume and crossover balance for my room. Some tracks sounded too bass heavy while others were too flat. I went ahead and got a pair of Audioengine a2+ and Adam d3v. Audionengine immediately gave a feeling of a premium product. Package, quality of materials, carbon-like mids but unfortunately the sound they produce is as tiny as the speakers are. No miracle here. And it wasn’t as clear as Oras too. But Adam audio turned out to be amazing. Kanto and Adam are much closer in sound than audioengine, both being cleaner, crisper and significantly more detailed than tiny a2 but there are small nuances that made d3v sound much better. Bass is punchier and less dirty. Highs are as crisp but not that tiring and mids are there. As the result, it all just sounds the way I like out of the box with no eq or sub needed. And yes, those ribbon tweeters are something. And one other aspect I didn’t appreciate in oras is material and finish. They are made of some plastic that looks and feels cheap, yet somehow absolute magnet to finger prints. Just avoid touching these with bare hands, they are really hard to clean. And yes, one diffuser had a small dent, these were open box but marked as perfect condition so I bit the bullet but had to return anyway.

I have tested a lot of speakers in my days and I'm not surprised by much but these are a different story. The first thing I did was put them on some speaker stands and sit 5-6 feet back and played a bunch of different types of music. These are not large speakers. There very light and small. Like 8 inches tall. I was not expecting much bass below like 40-50 hz but when I played some test songs that have some 29-45hz bass and these speakers actually produced all of it. Down to 35hz I am getting a strong bass response something I didn't expect. They only have 4 inch woofers. I can even faintly hear bass tones down to 29hz. This is confirmed when I did a frequency response measurement with good bass down to 35hz. Than it rolls off quick below that. I have the klipish the fives and the are know for there size defying bass and yes they have more bass like double but the kantos go just as deep in a cabinet half the size. I also compared them to my edifier 2850db speakers that are huge with 8 inch woofers. They have decent bass but for 8 inch woofers there not as impressive as they could be but still some bass down to 30 -35hz. Similar frequency response to the ora 4. The ora 4 is like 8 times smaller and they dont sound weak in bass va the edifier which is wild. Edifier have more bass but the difference its not as big as the size difference would indicate The other great thing about these speakers is the balance of the sound as you increase volume. A lot of speakers will stop increasing bass above like 70% while the mid and high frequency get really loud making the sound unbalanced. This is what the fives do. But the kantos are just as balanced at max volume as they are at 40% also no distortion as all when pushed to max. The tuning is perfect and the sound is so clean and just on the warm side. This will prevent listening fatigue with long jam sessions. I plan on adding a kanto 8 inch sub soon just to get some more volume and fullness in my large room. I have them mounted to the wall 7 feet apart. I can use them with my TV if I want or just listen to music. I hightly recommend these speakers. It's weird they don't feel super premium when you hold them and feel the plastic there made if. But when they play music it all goes out the window. Also placement maters. Intried these on my desk and I where I was sitting was cancelling out the deeper bass and they didn't sound as big. But in my room where there mounted and I sit at the opposite wall the bass sounds huge. Rooms will always have areas where bass sounds super strong and deep and some spots where it almost disappears. Finding the right spot is important with these speakers.

I got the ORA 4 speakers for my office so I could take full advantage of Apple Music Lossless streaming, and what an exceptional set of speakers they are. The built-in dedicated DAC allows me to connect directly through USB-C and enjoy high-resolution lossless audio without any compatibility issues. I also purchased the ORA Sub, which allows the speakers to hand off the lower bass frequencies to the subwoofer. That really opened up the sound and noticeably improved the overall dynamic range, clarity, and separation. I set my Windows audio configuration to Studio Quality at 96,000 Hz, and the result is fantastic. I can hear an incredible amount of detail in the music, with excellent separation between instruments and a spacious soundstage. Sitting at my desk sometimes feels like having a live performance playing in front of me all day. The size of the speakers is also perfect for an office setup. I have mine on dedicated stands fairly close to me, which makes the control knob easy to reach. I also really like the simple single-knob control design. Overall, I couldn't be happier. Zero issues so far, and my office music setup genuinely feels like it has reached its peak. Highly recommended!

I really didn't want to spend this much money on a pair of speakers but the aesthetic and connection capabilites of these felt miles ahead of the competition. As someone who uses this for standard office work during the day and music production during the evening I can honestly say I am happy with this purchase. I really love how they cleaned up my cable management and how I can connect them to multiple devices in different ways. The sound is good and if you aren't an audiophile you will likely feel like they are plenty without the bass. Another thing I would mention is that they look massive in photos and reviews but honestly I think they are a perfect size for some desktop speakers of someone who wants something a little more serious. All that said.. I do think they could knock the price down a little bit or at least include some of the peripherals at this price point. The ecosystem is really nice with a variety of stands and it would be nice if at least one of these came with them at this price.

I don't write many reviews; there has to be something special about it. I have that here. I bought the Kanto SUB8 and Kanto ORA4 satellite/reference speakers. They sound truly outstanding (as in, hard to match) given their small size (which I needed) and pricing. As a counterintuitive bonus: The SUB8 was totally dead on arrival, not even a glowing power light. I immediately emailed Kanto's customer service (with extensive details about what I had already tried to be sure it was dead), and to my surprise, their entire claims process for taking back the dead one and sending me a new one was smooth and hassle free. It took 4 weeks, but 2 of those were just the cross-country shipping of the old & new one. The other 2 are about the minimum I could realistically expect an organization to go through the required steps. Well done, team!

Speaker works as expected. Not miles better than my current speaker (Edifier E25HD). Size of the speakers are smaller than I imagined and can easily fit on a computer desk with limited space. However, the 8 rubber feets and quick start guide were missing from the package. While the missing items are cheap and negligible, it mades one wonder if the speaker is brand new or otherwise. Why would items be missing from a new sealed set? To make matters worse, both Amazon and seller (Electronics Expo) pushed the responsibility to each other. Amazon claiming that it is merely the platform and simply insisted that I contact the seller directly. The seller on the other hand, claiming that the product is sold and shipped by Amazon hence not their issue as well. Terrible platform and seller. From this experience, you can expect the warranty for this product to be non existent. Not the first time that Amazon refused to make good an order. An earlier order for another product that was on offer was simply cancelled without any reason given. Did I keep the product? Yes, only because I had bought a speaker stand specifically for this speaker separately.

I kept saying, "wow" the first time I listened to these speakers. The clarity, range and response is highly enjoyable. Impressive. A few downsides however: (1) the speakers are white, but all the cables are black; (2) they are not loud, even at maximum volume. So if you like to listen to your music loud, you should buy another set of speakers.

I waited a long time for these to upgrade my speakers. As an audiophile with a $3k headphone setup the time came when I wanted to invest in great sound for my desktop speakers too. I have mine on the angled stands, there isn't much to say other than I couldn't be happier, they sound incredible and clean, being near field they also don't travel through the entire house but when you're in the listening position in front of them they're loud and powerful with a sound which wraps around you and doesn't sound directional at all. I do not understand why people pair them with a sub, the bass is perfection, it vibrates my chest, I don't need it to vibrate the walls too. Even those lucky enough to live in a standalone house (certainly not an apartment/unit) on their own with distant neighbours, why ruin perfectly good music by drowning it in excessive bass? It makes no sense. I've also started using them for music production rather than dedicated monitors, as stated by Kanto they are perfectly suitable for that too, really they can do anything and do it better than anything else in the price range while being smaller too.

The sound quality is great. The volume is loud enough to listen to in a medium-sized room, but as someone who likes listening to music on high volume, I wish it were louder.

They sound really good. Recommended
