Sram Cassettes PG850 8 Speed Cassette

Got a new chain. When I put it on it started skipping teeth on the old cassette. No surprise. So I ordered a new cassette. Installed easily and now it shifts perfectly with no skipping of teeth. New cassette + new chaing + new crankset = almost new bike for 1/10th the cost of a new bike. You do need a cassette removal tool, and a chain whip helps but is not necessary in order to remove and install one of these. Every bike owner should have one of those tools. It will pay for itself may times over if you can avoid going to the LBS to replace the cassette. I shopped around first and Amazon with Prime had the best overall price when shipping was considered.

Fully compatible with 8 speed shimano, great quality and nice look for less . Got the part earlier than expected and I can hear a huge difference compared my model cassette .

Finally decided to start my own bike maintenance to save some $$$. Needed to install a new cassette and with some quick research realized this was the proper replacement part for my bike. SRAM makes excellent parts and this is no exception. It installed easily and having now put about 200 miles on my bike since installing this replacement, it is performing perfectly. I installed this together with a new chain and chain ring, and did this because my chain was routinely slipping, especially under pressure - since replacing these parts my bike is riding like new again. The recommendation is that all these parts be replaced together if there is significant wear, which was the case in my situation. This was my first attempt at replacing a cassette and it went very smoothly. I would definitely buy this cassette again.

I used a 6-cog main body from the big big name's 7spd because it was wide enought to need no spacer on a standard freehub. Shifts great because they're clocked the same, and this SRAM unit has a nicer lockring too!

bought this to use with Wahoo Kickr - it installs fairly easily and works well - I don't have a bunch of miles on it (yet) but appears to be holding up just fine - would recommend for the price and can confirm it works with the Kickr - you will need to use the spacer provided by Wahoo when you remove the included 11-speed cassette to make this 8-speed cassette work

It is a joy when working on an older bike and you get the exact right part for the job at hand. This SRAM cassette is one of those great moments. I've got a Salsa La Cruz for which I grabbed a pair of Bontrage Race Lite Wheels at the Santa Cruz flea market for a very reasonable price. However, the rear wheel came without the casette. The La Cruz was set up for an 8 speed Shimano system as was the Bontrager wheel. When I looked for a cassette, I found that most were 9 or 10 speed. After a lot of thinking and guessing, I ordered the SRAM 8 speed. It tool all of three minutes to install it, ZERO time to adjust the index shifting and I believe that the shifting is smoother than with the old set up. PROS: - Easy installation - No adjustment needed - Feels like easier Shifting - Very reasonable price CONS: - Took a while to figure out which cassette to buy - Would have preferred a black one to the shiny chrome one - Did not have an exact match to my previous gearing Loving it!

After much use, I decided to write and say that this is a great, inexpensive upgrade and have put on some miles- been riding all over the place with no issues. I ride both street and mountain. I bought the SRAM chain to go with it and I use XTR rapid-fire (old skool) shifters. Solid, durable, and smooth feel when shifting. There isn't anything I don't like about this product. Amazon shipped fast as always! The cassettes are still crazy shiny (I keep my bike outside and do minimal maintenance). I thought they would have rusted by now, but nope! The chain has rusted, but thats normal.

Shimano has mostly abandoned the legacy market, but fortunately SRAM and a few other companies still make quality replacement products. This is one of them. Decent light weight cassette. Not going to replace your XT/XTR cassette tooth for tooth and gram for gram, but it's good enough for most of us still riding 20 year old + bikes. In fact, it's better than anything shimano is offering. No complaints, I home they produce it a few more years.

Ya he rodado muchos kilómetros con este cassette tanto en carretera como en ciudad y no tengo observaciones negativas, siento suave los cambios y un muy buen desempeño. Muy buena calidad. Relación calidad-precio, muy bien.
