Good ergonomic design, works consistently well, fits over a thin phone case.
I used it on a one-month trip, every single day, all day and evenings; it worked reliably and great. It seamlessly and reliably connected to Bluetooth by pressing the button for a couple of seconds where the LED on the button clearly flashed to indicate it is pairing then turned solid red to indicate connection is complete. It lasted over 3,000 clicks before I had to change the battery. I was able to use it on my iPhone 16 Pro Max with a thin phone case. It really felt like the point and shoot camera that I used to use before, it is ergonomically well designed. The arm strap, which I always used, allowed me to stick my hand out of a car, or over a ledge to take pictures without having to worry about dropping the phone, I tested it repeatedly by letting go of the phone and it it always held.A couple of suggestions to better improve the utility of the product:- provide a very small rubber band that roles over the strap so it can be tightened around the wrist after inserting the hand into the strap by rolling the rubber band closer to the arm.- add an islet that can be screwed into the hole meant for a camera stand, and a neck strap goes into the islet to carry or further secure the phone.- Add a recharging battery by utilizing the space in the hollow handle. This can be very helpful since taking pictures and photos quickly depletes the phone battery, I always depleted the battery within very few hours of heavy use. I take hundreds of pictures a day when I travel, I had to recharge my phone by noon on most days.

An easy way to improve family and event photographs
I made the reluctant admission some time ago that I'm just not going to haul my DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex, aka 'real camera') around to most of my family events and vacations. Well north of 99% of my photography done these days, even the stuff for art's sake, is done on my iPhone XR. It's a neat photo package, but it's hard to hold properly. I decided to look for a handgrip and it turns out, there are many.*ErgonomicsJust about *any* grip would be an improvement over holding a cellphone in a protective case or just the plain phone. It's a good-size, which means that my young kids can use it easily, as well as me and my wife. I can leave it on and still get into the pockets of the cargo pants my wife hasn't found and thrown out yet.The grip has two spring-loaded arms that...grip...the cell phone. It's a bit like cell-phone mounts for cars. The springs are strong and it takes effort to get the phone in and out, so I don't see this as something that your phone will accidentally fall out of.If you have a monopod or a tripod, you can also attach it via a universal screw mount.*ConnectionThis is a Bluetooth device. If you have had great luck with Bluetooth, there's nothing to worry about. If you are like me and your BT devices are constantly disappearing and disconnecting, this is one of those memory items you need to get set up before you leave for the day. In general, I would say that I haven't had too many problems.Set up is simple: open your BT connections manager, turn on BT, and turn on the device. It shows up as 'HG-BT1' and so far I haven't been able to re-name it on my iOS.Make sure you're in camera mode when you first use it, or hitting the shutter just adjusts your volume! There's no appreciable lag between depressing the button and getting the shot.*TL;DRThis is an inexpensive, easy-to-use add-on. It works as advertised and will definitely help improve your family and event photography. It comes with a button-style CR battery that is inexpensive to replace when yours dies.

Makes taking photos a snap!
Love this little gadget. My arthritic fingers aren’t as nimble as they used to be and I find it awkward to take photos using the screen or side buttons on my iPhone 15. This makes photo taking a snap single or double handed. Plus there are no more thumb tips peeking of the sides of my images. The MagSafe holds my phone securely. No worries about it falling off. The hand grip can also swivel to use as a stand. I didn’t think I’d need this, but have found it very convenient—like for perching on the nightstand when I visit my sister overnight.

Great item for the serious amateur photographer. Really makes the phone feel like a camera.
I've seen similar items, some with extra features, on sale for a lot more money. This little item ups the comfort level of using a smartphone as a camera, especially for the serious amateur photographer. The grip is intuitive and well made. Does it make the existing camera in your smart phone better? Only insofar as it makes the phone more fun to use as a camera. Basically it is an ergonomic grip with a bluetooth shutter release. It does not have zoom control nor does it have exposure controls. Those are all available in photo editing apps. It does make the phone more bulky and less pocketable but the grip is easily removed and reattached. And on vacation or out shooting photos for fun I'm gonna have my phone in my hand anyway. If I have to fault anything it is the little instruction sheet. Sparse and little confusing as the parts and functions are not well labeled. And you might want to enlist the aid of a magnifying glass if you're past a certain age.

Absolutely a must-have if you're doing video with your smart phone!
I bought this in anticipation of my vacation to the Bad Lands of South Dakota. It worked perfectly on my Galaxy S21 Ultra and on my wife's Moto G Stylus 5G 2024. I let my sister try it on her iPhone 16 and she liked it so much she bought one for herself that same week, albeit the Magsafe version. It carries my phone very much like my DSLR and takes wide video by default, which is great for filling the computer/TV screen with video and not black bars. I was ecstatic at finding this before I bought it, and even more so now after using it for a couple of months! I was originally afraid that I would have to replace the battery before returning from my vacation, but after using it almost daily for 6 weeks it's still going strong. I have no idea when the battery's going to give out.
