Great alternatives with minor issue
If you want some of the better alternatives around, these are it. Totally different looks for each color is obvious in the photos, however on the board they seem to pop fairly well for those that are colorblind better than the standard pack in trains. I have problems though. The Odyssey trains we just lay on their sides. They seem to have posts too small to hold their top heavy weight. Also there are only three colors and the game plays higher. As well this can never work for the Rails & Sails as it is just trains. I think overall these are some of the better ones you can get. I just don't know if the top heavy ones are worth the cost and still having to use two original colors when playing with 5 players.

Absolutely beautiful, but a -huge- issue.
These are gorgeous playing pieces and they will definitely spiff up your Ticket to Ride games. The sculpting and paint on these pieces are amazing and the designs are excellent with one exception: The Odyssey. The orange Odyssey monorail pieces, while extremely nice-looking, are going to be a huge problem in any game. Let me ask you this: How many times during your games has someone inadvertently bumped the table, even just a little bit? Happens all the time, right? The Odyssey pieces are going to fall over nearly every time. They are too top-heavy on two tiny little posts, and it is very difficult to place them without one or all of them falling over. Even if you can get them to stand, there is virtually no way that they will stay that way through a turn, let alone a full game. They absolutely need a bigger base to stand properly. Any player using them is going to be very frustrated and the game will grind to a halt every time they need to be stood back up. This is, quite frankly, unacceptable for optional (and expensive) pieces that are meant to elevate the look of your game. Unfortunately, this means that I would only suggest purchasing this set if you REALLY like the Marquis & Sakura sets because the Odyssey pieces will be annoying at best and unusable at worst, given your level of patience. Little Plastic Train company, please take the Odyssey piece design back to the drawing board and make them so they will stand up properly through a game. They are too cool to not try fixing, but they are terrible in their current state. It sadly makes this set, that I would normally consider a 5-star product, barely 3-stars because, in their current state, only the Marquis and Sakura pieces are functional.

Adorable high quality pieces for Ticket to Ride
We each have claimed a personal set for plays and they look great on the board and feel nice in the hand and all lined up in front of each of us. I'll be honest, if it wasn't for Amazon Vine, I don't think I would spring for these at full price. Not because they aren't quality premium components, but because I just don't tend to spend much on "bling" for my games, despite how much I like it. We play Ticket to Ride often enough to make these worth while, but not often enough that I'd have bought them full price. So I think you either know you're the type of board game who buys these for their games or not. Overall, they're premium quality components priced at a standard premium price.

Extraordinary Engines - Deluxe Board Game Train Set
These are attractive sets of train pieces for the ticket to ride games (I have several). It isn't a full set for the game, just 3 sets. The game comes with 5 sets of trains. So 3 people will be able to use these sets in place of the regular trains. They're made of molded plastic, with wooden counter chips. The price appears to reflect maybe the individual hand painting of each train, which is all very uniform and professional. If it came with a full set of trains, I'd have given it 5 stars, but at its current price of $66, it seems a little overpriced for 3 sets.

Very nice! So detailed!
These are such a gorgeous upgrade for our Ticket to Ride game. Three different styles in a durable metal tin. We love how detailed these are! It even comes with a point counter to match. The orange ones are a bit of a trick to get to stand up, but otherwise extremely pleased. They are the right size for the Ticket to Ride game. There are 48. TTR has 45 in the standard game so you have a couple extra or have the flexibility to use them with the expansions. So excited to use these!

Great 2 out of 3 sets
Ticket to Ride has got to be in our top 10 games of all time, that we picked up the Anniversary edition with deluxeified pieces. Thus, we needed more deluxified trains by getting this set so we can play White (Marquis), Purple (Sakura), and Orange (Odyssey). Yes, I'm one of those most excited about Orange, as that is my color of choice in the few games that offer it. But...that was the biggest disappointment with this set. The Odyssey trains topple over with the slightest table bump, shake, vibration. Such an unfortunate, poor design. The Marquis and Sakura are great and those in our house that love those colors now have the options. 2 out of 3 train sets are usable and visually pleasing (fallen over trains are not visually pleasing). The quality and details are great, but this package is only good because of this major complaint.

Nice variety for your Ticket to Ride games...but the price!
These are a nice alternative for anyone who loves playing Ticket to Ride and all of the may expansion maps. Good looking train cars (not sure how well The Odyssey monorail cars will stand up to actual game play though) that are sized to fit on the standard boards (as opposed to the Anniversary edition special cars.) But at around $20 per set of trains included the price seems prohibitive to many people springing for this instead of getting a couple of expansion boards. Good quality, nice tins, cute designs but priced extremely high.
