Inexpensive, Works Perfectly, Easy Install
Replaced the ice maker on our Sub-Zero 532. Our old ice maker hadn't been working properly for nearly 2 years. Finally bought this one and installed it in about an hour. Make sure you use a small spirit level and make absolutely certain the unit is level when you're installing it (the mounting screws give some range of adjustability). When I removed the old unit (at least 16 years old) all of the coating on the trays looked incredibly disgusting, I can't believe we were using ice made by that thing. TIP: Remove the wire bale that signals the ice level in the drawer, and install it on the new unit, should fit with no problem. Had it for three months now, works perfectly. A few things to remember.... if you install this unit correctly and you still don't get ice, first check the freezer temperature. If you're not below the thermostat setpoint (0 deg. F is a good freezer temp, use a thermometer to verify), it won't make ice. If it still won't make ice, check the water supply solenoid valve (usually on the outside of the back of the refrigerator, near the bottom). If it's not functional, it won't make ice. Had both the solenoid and the ice maker go bad on my condo unit refrigerator, so you can't assume one is good if the other is bad.

Worked Perfect in SubZero 590, easy install
My SubZero 590 was getting Black Pieces in the Ice. I read this means the Ice Maker needs Replacement.I also read it can be Quite Expensive getting it from SubZero. So I tried this one. Bought and Sold from Amazon so I felt confident it wouldn't be the non Supco that some complained about, Always check your Seller Rating if not coming from Amazon.4 Screws Remove the Cover then you can get to the Unit.Turn off Power, for this one you do not have to turn off Water as the Nozzle just hangs above a little Square Funnel where the Water dumps into this.3 Screws on the Bottom of this Unit, there are Screws along the Left Side, mine only had 1 Screw there not Tightened where I just needed to lift up and Pull Left to get it over the Slot to the Hole to pull out. Funnel on the old one can break if you are not careful moving it past the Water Dispense Nozzle.Wiring Harness I just pushed with a Flat Head on the Tab in Front & it came free.I re-used the Wire Ice ShutOff Arm from the Original Unit as it works on this and has that Plastic Piece that this one did not & I read in other Reviews about the Included arm not shutting off Ice Production, Original Arm fits in this unit and works Perfect.New unit the Wiring Harness plugged in perfect.ReAssemble the way you Removed in Reverse, make sure water spout is inside the Square Funnel. So far everything is working great.3 Months still working great.I also used to get Ice Clumping together with the Original one. No longer get that with this one.

Not quite an exact fit for a Sub Zero 501F
I bought this to replace the original ice maker unit in my 501F which finally gave up the ghost. The original ice maker in my 501F has a not in the water receptacle (see picture). The plastic price on the unit purchase would not fit without modification. I took a pair of sharp scissors and cut out a V notch for the water pipe. The unit was not level and tilted forward in my unit. The instructions say to level back to front and left to right. The left to right is daily is easily accommodate by the slotted screw holes in the unit. The back to front is not addressed. I ended up making a shim by folding over a sheet of aluminum foil. I shove this shin behind the unit and this worked.Otherwise the unit started making ice about 4 hours after install.

Paint peeling after 1 year
A little after a year, the ice was getting hung up. I pulled the unit out and found that paint is peeling in the ice mold! I’ve had ice in my drinks every day! Disgusting

Plug and play! easy
Its a bargain BUT in my SubZero 550 the wire that stops production can't work due to freezer design. But for me its worth the hassle. I think the listing warned me about this so Im not complaining, just making it clear.I bent the wire so it clears the obstruction my freezer has so I can lift it to the off position. This would be a hassle for some. If you use a lot of ice perhaps you would not have to turn it off. It fills a large empty ice tray in a day and half.P.S. I bought the expensive sub zero replacement once and in two years it stopped working. Now Im going the cheap way.

the Supco unit is much noisier (the heating element that melts the cubes so they drop from the rotating tray makes a very audible and annoying buzzing noise when it activates)
I purchased this during summer 2014 and it just failed summer 2018. I installed it myself in my Sub-Zero 561, which was a little bit fiddly to do. At the time, I wasn't sure how much longer I would be keeping my aging Sub-Zero 561, so I didn't want to spend the money on the genuine Sub-Zero ice maker (nor a pricey service call from a trained technician), and went with this much cheaper Supco unit and do-it-myself installation instead. It fit properly, and it did work, but you get what you pay for.In comparison to the genuine Sub-Zero modular ice maker, the Supco unit is much noisier (the heating element that melts the cubes so they drop from the rotating tray makes a very audible and annoying buzzing noise when it activates), it fills the ice bin much more slowly (I can't explain why) and seemingly has a much shorter service life. Based on my admittedly limited sample size, the genuine Sub-Zero unit will last a good 10 to 12 years, whereas this Supco failed after 4 years of normal usage. So in my view, while the Supco is quite a bit cheaper, it does not work as well, nor will it last as long as the Sub-Zero unit.

Works with Sub-Zero 501F, but requires a little adjustment.
Needed to remove the cutout in the back of the fill chamber to accommodate the fill tube on my model. The new wire bar for on/off was different so I had to use the wire from the old unit to accommodate the drawer in/out function.
