I was going to get another stand that was $20, but I read the reviews here of the people who bought a cheap one, and then eventually they came here for the quality one. So, I took a leap and bought this one first. Wow, I'm so glad I did!!! Here are some comments about how it works (for video-ing newbies like me). Btw, I'm not getting paid to leave this review. I'm just a regular girl who bought this. I don't even know without looking who makes this. (I'm saying these things since you can never be too sure these days.) Okay, here's my opinion: 1. The setup is super simple. Just 4 steps, and no tools required. If you are going to use this for your phone, I figured out that you can skip step 3 because it's already setup for a phone (there's an adapter for things other than a phone). 2. It's very sturdy. Some people complained in their reviews that the stand gets in the video. Anyone who says that doesn't understand all the ways this contraption can be positioned. The telescoping pole goes way up high if you want. It's nuts. Plus, the ball joint thingies move all over the place, and then you tighten them when you get them in the position you want. It's totally brilliant. The only way you'd get the stand in the frame is if you don't take 10 seconds to adjust it. 3. It's heavy. The base isn't going to fall over. Some people said in their reviews that it tipped over. Either they were leaving a review for the wrong thing, or they hooked up some super heavy professional camera to this thing. If you are using it with phone, there's no way it's going to tip over. It's way to heavy for that. 4. It holds the phone securely. You won't have to worry about your phone falling out. The grip is very tight. I have to use 2 hands to open it and get my phone in there. The spring that holds it in grips it like a vice. There's no way it's falling out. 5. The fact that this has a wide base so you can set it anywhere is so much better than the cheapy ones that have to screw onto a table. Again, mucho versatility. This one is a little pricey, but imho, it's worth every penny!!! This stand + the Open Camera app + a lavalier microphone = #winning Omg, my videos look sooooo good!!! Thank you!!! 🎉🥳

First I wanna say any negative reviews I believe are user error. I have tested all the things that could go wrong and nothing did go wrong!! I was weary at first ordered it twice and canceled cause I wasnt sure about spending so much but when I got it I immediately regretted not buying it sooner!! Would've saved me so much frustration for context I make nail art videos for tiktok and its hard with other tripods to get a good angle and to be able to view the screen to make sure your in frame and this does all that. I have a iPhone pro max 12 and she is HEAVY. This phone stand holds it very securely I am not afraid of it dropping my phone like so many other phone stands. Doesn't shake if it's been moved . This is amazing im going to purchase the extra phone and tablet mounts for live videos!! Buying from Amazon is also better than the website. Arkon takes unusually long to process orders which is another reason I canceled the first few times purchase on Amazon for the prime shipping!!!

While waiting for the delivery an hour ago, I was reading all the reviews and saw one star review because of the base that was showing during recording. As soon as the product arrived, I've set it up and see for myself... I think you just have to put the camera away from the base so it won't show and make sure to use the right height too, if you maximize the height, you can still a little of the base. For me, it really worked perfectly! Now, with the additional extension... when I've added and tested, it doesn't hold much and sadly it slowly goes down. I'm using iPhone 6, haven't tried the 6 plus and camera. Maybe the total weight of the 3 shaft and adapters is really heavy for one knob to hold. If it will, it might break the plastic that holds the knob. For me, the 2 shaft works fine. For future improvements, I'm not sure how possible, instead of the 3rd shaft, duplicate how you made the arm (connected to the pedestal) that extends longer and make a smaller version that can be connected as 2nd shaft to the camera. In this way, the issue on weight of the shafts maybe address and possible showing of base as you extend taller shall be address too. Btw, this is my husband's account, he bought it for me and I'm just doing the review because I am the one who experienced it. Overall, it is a good buy! I will add photos and edit my reviews as soon as I have tried the iPhone plus and camera. Thank you so much for the maker of this product!

I originally bought this so I could film craft videos with my phone, but ended up buying a video camera to use with it instead. I just could not figure out how to position the phone so that I could film AND see the screen at the same time. Love using it with the video camera - very easy to position. My only problem with it is that the stand is not heavy enough to hold it down when the arm is fully extended holding the video camera. Sometimes I have to put heavy objects on the stand to keep it from tipping. But overall, a great tool for filming!

I use it for jewelry making videos. Love how the camera and boom arm are not in my way as I work. The adjustments require a little effort, but once you dial a certain angle in it stays there. A little tippy, even with a phone, but it’s easy to add a little weight to the base when needed. The adjustable links are not metal- I’m thinking carbon fiber- so they will probably hold up fine. Everything seems strong, well engineered and designed. I recommend this tool.

Great product overall. I like the feature to hold the table or phone you’re using. Had issues with the top of the mount sliding a bit from the original position but I think that was more my error of how I secured the different joints than the device (I’ve only used it a couple times). Overall happy with the purchase.

Very easy to set up and use. Can see a bit of the base sometimes in the shot. But the screws are easy to tighten and works very well.

Very well made. Versatile. Currently being used to project art images for sketching. A bit expensive but should last many years.

I use it for filming cooking. It’s well built but not smooth to operate (too many parts) I would highly recommend it if most of your filming needs are from a single angle or position. Good material
