Cressi Resistant Aluminum Pole Spear 3 Pieces with Paralyzer Tip

Loved the actual pole part of the spear! But like other reviewers have experienced, the spear tip is not meant for than one shot. It broke off into sand when shooting a fish. Please, Cressi, make a better tip for this spear! It would be a killer combination with this awesome spear!

I am a huge fan of Cressi. However this spear is garbage, well if you spear a fish over 8" anyway. I took it for a test drive and stuck 6 corbina from. 12" to 18". every fish was able to wiggle off before I could even get to it...meaning FAST.I got my old trusty rusty out and started racking up fish on the clip.I belive it is because of the outward facing points. Well it took many years, but I finally purchased a Cressi item I didn't like.

The problem with this is that the 6mm threads are not long enough so that the tip can hardly be threaded on, only a few mm so that a fish can easily take the barb off the spear. If it was just a little longer it would be perfect. This may be an issue specifically with using JBL-style spear tips, but they are 6mm and that is what I used and had issues with.

First package came used, damaged, in an open box when it was suppose to be brand new.Recieved replacement, went fishingThe spear head is flimsy and bent easily. Not happy with overall quality, will probably return all together if I cannot find a better head replacement.

The body is a 5 stars, but the point lost its parts with every shot that hit a stone

Using it for lionfish hunting on the Gulf of Mexico. Dive with pliers to bend the forks, I case they bend. They can and will bend. Expect it. Plan for it. It’s normal. Bring pliers and you’ll be fine. I use a small amount of silicone lube on the threads to reduce sound and sticking during setup/breakdown.

just pulling this pole spear out of the box feels strong and sturdy the tip on the other hand is junk i took off the cap holding the barbs together when it sprung open one of the barbs popped out like no more attached to the pole spear so now i am down to 4 barbs and the other pole spear from the same company same everything the tip is really bent no way close to straight

Tines broke off one at a time each time i used it... they're held into place on the spear tip by a drop of epoxy. I think the heat of the sun softened the epoxy; coupled with the force of storing the tines clustered together in the plastic cap that came with the spear tip, I was down to one tine in less than 2 months of weekly to bi-weekly use.

Impressing spear. Quality is great and the length of the spear itself is adjustable. I used it three or four times and already cought half a dozen fishes. Exactly what I was searching for. It can also be dismounted in multiple pieces to bring during vacations around the world. My friend bought the same one and this summer just became incredibly more fun! Lake spearing in Québec is so much nicer than I could have imagined. All you need is a snorkel, a mask, fins and a spear. The spear part is easy. Get this one!

This is a nice sturdy spear, better than I expected in fact but I am knocking a star off for shoddy quality control.I like that the length can be changed, and the threads seem sturdy so far (although I haven't tested it under any harsh conditions or length of time).The elastic is good and comfortable to use, and the head provided with it is pretty good too, although if you are fishing against rocks, they don't last too long!One thing I am not too sure about is that the joints on mine had a couple of quite sharp burrs on the joint edges (that I have now filed down, but I took a photo of one before I did) so if you are not using gloves when projecting this with the elastic you may well end up cutting your hand open. Check your joints, and take a file to them to smooth them off.Anyway, not much more I can say about this - Take my advice on checking for and filing down the sharp interconnects down though!Hopefully, this is helpful for somebody.

These seem like they have great potential. Unfortunately mine are not straight at all due to angled joints. I'm disappointed; this is the sort of thing I can make correctly in my small home shop. A 90° straight thread should be trivial to accomplish in a facility geared for making things like this.I don't recommend buying this in case the craftsmanship is even worse than what I received.

El producto es bueno, llego en tiempo, el material y acabado son buenos, se ensambla bien y sin problema, totalmente recta queda la vara, la punta paralizer es buena y cumple su funcion, el peso en general es comodo, la gran ventaja de armar y desarmar para transportar me gusta, solo me falta una funda o bolsa para transporte. He practicado pesca con arpon, esta es mi primera incursion con vara hawiana y espero dominarla pronto. Estoy satisfecho con este producto.

Decent spear but i had 2 main issues with it. #1: out of the box you can't use just one section if you want a shorter spear. it has to be at least 2 sections long as the barb wont screw onto the end sling section. #2 the barb doesn't have a long enough screwing mechanism, so i had 2 separate issues where speared fish unscrewed the barb as they tried to get off. i suppose i need to improve aim, but some form of locking switch would be welcome. Overall it's good though and i don't regret buying it. It has 100+ lionfish scalps and counting...

Awesome design. I dont care at all that its a little on the heavy side its going to get used and abused. Besides most of my pole spear shots and strait down it may even make it work better.. ill update if im wrong

got it, really liked it, looks really well made, however it was really heavy that I had to return it, still think it is great for those who don't mind heavy spears.

Very practical hawaïen sling. comes in 3 parts the threaded portion is made of stainless steel(good quality), can be shorten using 2 sectios and it fits jus right in my suitcase. Did not find any lion fish to try it. Better luck next time.I recommend this item.

Amazing little spear... LONG SPEAR hahaha!!!pretty suprised of what i got, the only thing is i didnt know how it worked out, no instructions, but after looking at it i figured out hahah, best spear for the price, the harpoon is very pointy, it could injure someone or something very easily, use with care and enjoy the fishing!!!

Used for lionfish hunting. Quite sturdy and rust resistant, though not rust proof of course. We’ve tried many different spear tips & these by far, are the best.

Love it. It's a bit heavy but I think that's a good thing. Threads together tightly, points are sharp and solid. Haven't shot it at anything but the box yet, but it seem great.

Fonctionne très bien pour l’achigan, par contre la pointe se brise facilement sur les rochers alors il faut bien viser le poisson
