I was skeptical at first due to price, but I cannot argue with a very significant and obvious improvement in my shooting skills
Okay, I complained about the price. I STILL think this thing is over priced. It's priced as it is not because of what it costs them to make, but based upon the item's value. After having used it for a while, I will (reluctantly) agree that it's worth the money. As a new shooter I was looking for ways to improve my shooting. Then I learned about "dry fire" exercises. From there I found out about this laser device and after much deliberation and reading of reviews, I cashed in a few gift cards and decided to give it a try. I mean, it's Amazon...you can always return it if you don't like it or if it doesn't live up to its promotions. I purchased the 9mm version.Installation is easy. Lock open the slide and slide the cartridge into the barrel via the ejection port. Close the slide and you are set to go. Cycling the slide WILL NOT eject the cartridge. Some advise a touch of oil on the rubber rings, but I was too impatient and did not use any. I still have not.Every shot with a 9mm pistol produces a short (maybe half second) laser light that is fired down the barrel. I was skeptical as to how accurate of a representation the location of this dot would be to wear I truly was pointing, but it is definitely pretty accurate even across multiple guns. I've tried it in a Glock 19 Gen 4, a Glock 17 Gen 4, and a Sig Sauer P226. All work well.Be advised that if you plop this item into a striker fired pistol like a Glock, you have to pull back the slide to reset the trigger on every dry fire. Please note that you do NOT need to cycle the slide all the way back on the Glock...you only need to pull the slide back enough to cause the trigger to reset, which turns out to be somewhere around 1/2 inch to 1 inch of movement of the slide (or less). I did not find it annoying at all to have to "bump" the slide back after each shot.On the Sig Sauer, which has a hammer, you have to cock the hammer back after each shot. In some ways this is easier, but neither is a nuisance. The only thing this means is that you cannot practice rapid shooting. While there ARE devices out there to help with this (I've seen a special Glock magazine that will allow you to cycle the trigger repeatedly...but is costs around $100!), there is great value in using the laser cartridge solely for practicing a quick sight acquisition and alignent from your draw stroke, especially from concealment.I had this device for less than a month and I saw a HUGE increase in my shooting my next trip to the range. This device allowed me to practice my trigger control (one of my biggest shooting issues) on a daily basis at home without ear protection and without having to expend ammunition. A real money saver. I am now down to about a 2 inch spread for most of my shots and getting better all the time. Imagine what 15 minutes of dry fire practice a day at home will do for your shooting skills?I highly recommend this device to anyone who is dedicated to becoming a better shooter. I am a relatively new shooter and I continue to see significant improvement in my shooting through the daily use of this product...even just a couple of minutes a day.

No-Brainer!! Go for it!
It's really a no-brainer! I highly recommend to go ahead and purchase one of these lasers, considering this day and age with harder to find 9mm ammo.Even without there being an 'ammo issue', it's still a great investment! Being able to practice anytime and basically anywhere (where you can pull out your 9mm) clearly is advantageous in terms of practice, especially for those who purchased their handgun(s) for self-defense/home use, as one can practice in the same place/context (s)he might have to someday use (though hopefully never).Last trip to a local indoor range here in Austin, Texas, I had a gentleman approach me, ask about the sights on my gun, a Ruger SR9 with XS Big Dots Express (self-defense sights), and he said that he thought I was a good shot. It was my second time to the range EVER, as I am a new handgun owner and had shot a handgun only once in the past, several years ago. Of course, I had watched many videos on Youtube and practiced various fundamentals, including the us of the Laserlyte, which was 1000+ rounds, so it seem to reason I would improve!! Well, apparently I did, as I never would have expected someone to compliment my shooting skills! Who woulda thunk it!!! ;)From my perspective, the laser has paid for itself already, and I still have a long time to practice into the future, improving my shooting and shooting dynamics even more. A trip to the range can get a little costly these days, and 1 to 2 trips basically is the same as the laser's cost. Simple, the laser pays for itself, over and over again! There was another review by a person who was using a center-fire SR9 and he said the laser stayed on until the slide/trigger reset, but found that if I push the laser a littler further into the barrel, then the laser will flash and turn off. With more use/shots, it might/usually does 'stick' again, but simply open the slide up and press the laser a little further down the barrel. If you press in too much, it won't strike the laser. Either press in with a pencil (eraser side for greater protection of laser) or a more 'harsh' way, simply let a locked slide position, 'slam' forward, which will throw the laser back toward the back/you and then readjust if needed. It's not that big a deal, and you will get better at it, so just be patient, and like with most things, pay proper attention. You will see, it's a wonderful tool and works just fine.I cannot recommend this product more. After all of the years of shopping online with Amazon, this is my first product review. That's how impressed I am with this product, and feel the need to recommend to anyone out there who wants to seriously improve your shooting, not to mention, save a lot of money in the process!Happy Shooting, and BE SAFE! :)
