I'm actually a big fan of this V-Flat. I use this for my flower photography since it gives me plenty of white space and black space to work with. I did order the larger size and this is big, which is what I needed for my lovely flowers. Pros: The black absorbs all the light I throw at it. This is awesome since it gives your shadows more of a punch, right? At the same time, the white does a good job bouncing off light if you want to fill up any shadows. And despite the size the quality feels very solid. It is my first v-flat ever, but I feel like this is a good choice for a dependable v-flat considering I have beaten it up pretty good so far tbh and it works as I need it to. Cons: I'm not sure if I'll be able to easily transport this in my 2016 Lexus ES 350 if I had to, plus it is somewhat cumbersome to carry around. It also takes some time to flip the v-flat around so if you're going to use this for let's say portrait photography do keep this in mind. So, I wouldn't say it is the easiest to use, but if you set it and forget it you're golden. I shared some pics of my flowers using this and you can see how big it is. Keep in mind, in my one pic, this is just 1 side, not both folded. It's pretty large. I also don't have any pics using the white side that I really like, but they do come out well. Worth it imo.

As a photographer I have used the top version of this v-flat for years and still use them today. I have used other flats over time as well and none of them are as portable, light weight and less of a mess as this v-flat. I have also looked into making my own with mixed results, that did not come close. I travel regionally for my business so portability is important. If you are a photographer who has their own studio, storage space and does not need to travel to a location with a flat then you should be fine without this product and could even make your own. For any photographer that may rent a studio or other space or spends more time outdoor than indoor then this v-flat is worth the value.

Wow - in my 40+ years as a photographer, I have barely seen a more crap product. The videos suggest something totally different from what the products represent. Returned it. Beware: even as a Prime member, the return was $50 in postage.

I've seen V-Flats advertised in one form or another for years, and I finally bought these. They function exactly as advertised. They're both sturdier and lighter than I expected. The magnetic strip makes these extremely easy and quick to setup... Good size for doing portrait/fashion work inside of a small location. Get yourself a 4X8 white formica sheet from homedepot, put it on the floor, and you have a complete white backdrop for your photos. I'm very happy with these.

I primarily bought the 2.0 V-Flat to use as a portable backdrop. The assembly seemed effortless in the videos, but it's a bit awkward as you have to flip up the top panels and keep them from falling while lining up the magnetic strips. It would be much easier with a second person to help hold up the panels. Also, the tapped seams are clearly visible on both sides, so I have to remove them in Photoshop. The included carrying bag is nice to have, but the material is flimsy. I think I got carried away by V-Flat's slick videos. In retrospect, a collapsible backdrop would've been better for my needs. I think the V-Flat's best use is for modifying light as that is what they were originally designed for.

Much better then the original version

I purchased these direct from V Flats website; they arrived dented and damaged. The customer service has become unresponsive when trying to initiate a return/Refund. I wouldnt recommend these based on that alone, but also the material used is very low quality. Seems you could make these for less than $40/ea and a majority of this cost is most likely shipping and marketing. Unless Amazon is handling the return of this item, they're not worth the hassle of dealing with v-flat.

The new and improved v-flats are exceptional. They arrived in pristine condition. Easy to travel with.
