Best of the cheap BD-R media I've tested.
I rate Ridata BD-R 25GB as 5 stars when compared to the other budget priced BD-R media. When compared to top end BD-R, I'd rate it 3.5 to 4 stars. The Archive maintains a very large optical disc library. Beside M-Disc DVD it uses large amounts of BD-R M-Disc as well as archival grade BD-R from 25GB to 100GB. Budget priced BD-R and AZO DVD's are used for temporary work only.Blu-ray discs are not all the same when it comes to being archival. Here are some tests I've done on BD-R media. Before adopting a disc for archiving data I always test it. The only problem with this is; the companies are always changing the discs. So, you could get a disc that passes archival tests and they change it to lower quality later on and it is not archival. Here are some of the 1-year sun stress test results for 25GB BD-R. Discs were put in a clear plastic jewel case and exposed to the sun for 1 year. (Some failed much sooner.)Verbatim BD-R 25GB purchased in 2019 / Japanese manufactured - PassedVerbatim BD-R 25GB purchased in 2020-2021 / Taiwan manufactured - PassedVerbatim M-Disc BD-R 25GB purchased in 2019 / Taiwan manufactured - PassedOptical Quantum / Optodisc BD-R 25GB purchased in 2019 / Taiwan manufactured - Failed within 5 weeks of sun.Smartbuy BD-R 25GB purchased in 2019 / Taiwan manufactured - Failed within 5 weeks of sun.PlexDisc BD-R 25GB purchased in 2019 / Taiwan manufactured - Failed within 5 weeks of sun.Ridata BD-R 25GB purchased in 2023 / Taiwan manufactured - 2755 files total on disc / 9 files failed to load after 1 year of sun.Note: The Ridata inkjet printable discs have strong chemical smell when new. Whereas none of the other discs tested has this strong smell. All of the cheaper BD-R media mentioned here had excellent burn success. The Ridata BD-R discs were the only disc out of the lower priced BD-R media I've tested that stood up to the 1-year sun test more or less perfectly.Daniel D. Teoli Jr. Archival CollectionDaniel D. Good product
These discs have worked well for me over the years and as long as there is a need, I will continue to purchase them!

Amazon Packaging Choice Was Very Poor
The discs are fine. They write perfectly at their rated burn speed and the price is a bargain.Amazon is the only negative I have with this transaction. They shipped the discs in a plastic bag and, of course, the "container spool" (whatever it is properly called) was broken.Otherwise, no issues. One could only wish for smarter packaging choices for fragile items by Amazon shipping. A box rather than a plastic bag was clearly called for in this case

Great Value And Reliable
It's hard to find a good deal on printable media. I use them for my business. These discs are great and I never have any bad burns. Highly recommended.

Very disappointed!
These things either fail about 30secs into the burn or they complete the burn and fail on the verify. So far I have about a 70% failure rate.

No coasters.
Used these before. Burn fine. Needs stronger case, this one was damaged, and wasn't the first.

A much better media than previous outings
Having tried a slightly less expensive brand in my last purchase of BD-R's, and getting something like a 50% coaster rate at a paltry 2x recording speed, this media was a breath of fresh air, where I'm getting something more like a 10% coaster rate at a whiz-bang 6x. This media uses the silver-blue dye, where all other previous media has used the chocolatey-brown dye, but seems to work just the same and reads fine in drives other than the one that created it.
