Best medical resource set I’ve found.
I’m a PA and used these when I practiced emergency medicine and cardiology. They’re an excellent resource. Also, I have a teenage nephew that’s way too smart for his own good. He’s flipping brilliant and loves medical info so I bought him this set to read in his spare time. He’s already driving his mom a bit batty with the in-depth medical knowledge he’s gaining, but I figure I’m giving him a head start on his potential medical school studies. Lol

Saved me
I'm not a doctor or even close as I'm only a second year cell and molec bio undergrad but I love these books. Two reasons. I learn some of the biology and bits of the physio in school but these books show me how it can apply to the real world and in everyday clinical situations. Also I have my own health problems and I consult these all the time and the flow charts have helped me treat myself when I don't have access to a M.D. The first time I had an Addison's disease crisis I didn't understand what was happening and had the section bookmarked. I was really out of it but I saw the bookmark and just did what it said with hydrocortisone and electrolytes and was able to get out of my bed finally and to the E.R soon after for real help.

The most authoritative textbook of medicine
One of the best and the go to resource for Internal Medicine and the 20th edition is only better. The eChapters from the previous edition have been converted to print format which is similar to the format followed prior to the 19th edition. Using sources like Uptodate is great for point of care refresh of knowledge and revision but this is a textbook which will help build a solid foundation of knowledge which is critical to any practicing physician. Before anyone says that it is too voluminous, know that most medical students and residents in India finish this book cover to cover before graduating from residency.

This is the latest issue of the standard text
There are two main general internal medicine textbooks: Cecil and Harrison's. Each has some strengths and weaknesses, and the choice is one of general preference. In these days of UpToDate (yeah, a plug for those guys) where entries can be rapidly updated, the utility of a giant, high-mass paper textbook has been called into question. These guys still give more comprehensive coverage of all topics, assuming your lips don't get tired after reading the first few pages.

Would recommend!
The product arrived on time and the print quality is good. Images are clear and the font is well distinguished. However, I am not very happy with the paper quality as it feels very delicate. The page edges(top and bottom) has wrinkles through out the book and when I tried to highlight using a standard highlighter, I almost made a hole in the page.

I feel like an internist again
I’m a doctor and got the Fifth Edition since I was in the school of medicine my specialty is way out of internal medicina but it is a great book of reference and I consider this book as the Bible in internal medicine I’m happy cause is the solution to all my doubts in that. I’m so happy to get it.
