I am very impressed with them. It takes a little playing around with in order to understand how to use them, because there are a few different options for using.First of all, you need to download the app in order to use the earbuds.If you are trying to talk with another person, each person puts an earbud in. You set the two languages you are trying to communicate in.There is an option to tap the earbud and start speaking, and then the app translates for the other person into their language.There is another option that you wear the earbud and touch it to speak, the translated voice will play from the phone speaker, you should tap the screen for the other peoson to speak, then you can hear the translated language from the earbud. That version a person has to be actively using the app.The last option is also the one i use most, and it would me the easiest option...two persons wear earbud each, just tap "start conversation" on the app to freely talk. You both don't have to touch the earbud, it's very convenient. Sometimes the translation can be inflenced by other people's voice around, but not a big deal.Overall, these are very impressive if you have some translation purposes.

Bought product and I have used it with a spanish speaking person. It was multiple times that this product does not recognize our voices with 'push to talk' and 'conversation' options. Very frustrating for the price. I'm returning it!

Bought it for my wife who works with Seniors that speak different languages (Spanish, Portages, Mandarin, Arabic, among others), When it works it is amazing. Their eyes light up they hear her "speaking" their language and they can have a free flowing conversation. the bad: The systems looses the connection to the phone constantly, and the earpieces keep loosing connection even after a full charge and the phone and ear pieces being within 2 feet of each other. Sending it back for now, but we can see the future and it is good.

This translator is nicely designed and works quite well. It's very easy to use and feels pretty comfortable in the ear while wearing. It translates accurately and quickly for the most part, though there is a bit of a lag which is to be expected. The easiest way to use it is to wear the ear piece yourself and use your phone as the mic and speaker for the person you're speaking with. You can hold the phone in their direction and when they speak into the phone in their language you'll hear it in your ear as spoken in your language. It is a little disorienting at first but after a little bit becomes easier to filter out their words and just focus on what you're hearing in the ear translator.There is also a second ear bud that the other person can use to talk to you. I'm a little weird about sharing things like earbuds so this isn't how I plan to use it. However, it could be nice in certain situations where you're speaking to one person a lot. Overall it's a solidly designed system that works well and seems like a good value for the money.

When looking at the description of this item, I was hoping to get a universal translator like they have on Star Trek. This is not a universal translator, and it doesn't seem much different than any of the other translators on the market. One person can speak into it in their language, and this device will translate it to your language. It doesn't work so well in a conversation, but it may save the day when you need to ask where the bathroom is.

The device translates by controlling the app on the phone rather than it translating in real time, so it requires active activation rather than passive activation. If this feature is updated to translate in real time automatically while the device is turned on it would be perfect. Otherwise, this is still an amazing little device that I would highly recommend for travelers going abroad to countries which use a language unknown to the user.

It's really impressive how far this kind of tech has come. It actually works. It's not perfect, as you still need to press the button and there is a small delay of a few seconds, but it is far better than any other alternative that I've found so far.
