In my own opinion chest mount works better than helmet mount for the vast majority of gopro applications. Chin mount might be better in a few cases, but it's hard to beat chest for both center of action and stability of image (no jerking the camera to look around you). This particular chest mount is steady and durable. I've been using mine for about 11 years and still going strong. I paid more for the gopro name brand, but in this case it's definitely worth it.

The GoPro Performance Chest Mount works exactly as advertised and has become an essential part of my setup, especially when I'm out fishing. It’s incredibly easy to use; attaching and detaching the camera is a breeze, and the mount itself is comfortable to wear for extended periods.One of the best features is how unobtrusive it feels while wearing it. Even though it’s positioned right on your chest, it doesn’t get in the way, allowing me to focus on fishing without worrying about the mount. It’s also not too bulky, making it simple to put on and take off whenever needed.The footage I’ve captured with this mount has been fantastic, providing a unique perspective that would be hard to achieve otherwise. I’ll definitely continue using it and will update this review in the future if anything changes.The only downside, if you can even call it that, is how it looks when worn. Personally, I felt a bit self-conscious about wearing it in public, especially since it’s quite obvious you’re recording. However, that’s more about my own insecurity rather than any fault of the product itself. If you can get over that, it’s an excellent piece of gear for capturing high-quality, hands-free footage.

Very comfy and gets the job done. Worth the extra $5-$10 for a more comfy/gopro brand chesty than a cheap off brand. Works great for gopro5. -1 star because the attachment piece they give you can’t point the gopro straight (only at a downward angle.) Get a better adapter piece or the one that came with your gopro and you’ll be able to aim camera straight.

I highly recommend the GoPro chest mount instead of the Akaso chest mount. I'm a larger than average human at 6'3" 245. Initially I bought the Akaso accessory pack which included their chest mount. I adjusted the Akaso straps out as much as possible and the straps would just pull out of the little clasps on the back of the harness as I put it on. The Akaso straps are definitely made for a smaller person. The GoPro will fit someone my size comfortably. The GoPro straps are secure, and there is no way for them to pull out when the elastic straps are stretched. The GoPro chest mount feels and looks like a much higher quality product compared to the Akaso mount.

Works great with Hero 8, used for POV videos and worked excellent!!
