Really enjoyed putting the ship together until I found multiple parts missing and for the amount I spent there should not be parts wrong sizes and missing in this set very disappointed. I bought both and after this I will be sending the other one back.

Great product n great delivery too

This is my first set by JMBricklayer so i thought i'd give this Black Pearl Pirate Ship a try.The set in question is the 40002 Black Pearl Pirate Ship with it's 1713 pieces.I've been building this set with the kids & its been an absolute blast to build.The first thing i loved was all the numbered bags, everything was organised into set groups for each of the main stages of the build, so you could easily find all the pieces you need for each step without any hassles.The instruction book was amazing, it has loads of pictures with nice & clear instructions that i found really easy to follow & very helpful.I also liked that some of the pieces had the design printed onto the pieces themselves, so there was no annoying stickers that needed to be applied, which is a definite bonus.There's even a full lighting kit that comes supplied in the set which gives this build that extra wow factor when its all completed & lit up, although it does run off of 3xAA batteries which are not supplied so you will need to grab yourself some batteries.I've found everything fitted together perfectly & i've been really happy with the overall build quality of the set & the individual pieces.There's been a lot of attention to detail with this set, especially with the weathered & torn sails which definitely adds a lot to the final look of the finished model.There is a couple of steps that's quite fiddly like when your doing the masts & the strings but i definitely think the finished product looks amazing, especially when all lit up.

The set arrived safely and we are halfway through building it. The pieces look great and match the pictures exactly, and they feel good quality. The lights add a fantastic touch. It has been an enjoyable build so far and I look forward to seeing the finished ship. It is priced at £71.99 at the time of review, which I think is reasonable considering the aesthetics and quality.
