My husband accidentally pulled the cord outwards instead of downwards and broke it on our large Roman Blind, the company who fitted it had gone out of business and although I rang another company they wouldn’t come out because it wasn’t one of their blinds.So I decided for just over £2 I would have a go myself. I watched a video on you tube then pulled back the top of the blind from the Velcro to allow access to the pull out clips retaining the metal box holding the mechanism. I used a crossed head screwdriver to release the end where the broken blind chain was wrapped around the cog. I forgot as I undid it that it was tensioned and the blind dropped...I thought oh no 😱 how am I going to get that to go back. I laid the whole lot on the floor, removed the broken piece of plastic chain from the cog and slowly wound it around until the flap of material that I had dropped down would fit smoothly on the Velcro.Holding it in place keeping the tension on...I slipped the continuous new plastic loop I had received then quickly put on the end cap and replaced the screws.I offered it up to the window and clicked the pull out clips back in place to secure the box back on the window. I smoothly attached the flap of blind to the Velcro and gently pulled the new plastic chain it worked perfectly.I’m a woman in her mid sixties and found the process easy to achieve.The company provided a good product and it arrived in a few days.
