The taste is pleasant and works well. I take a teaspoon before bed and I think the "raft" the brown seaweed makes, keeps stomach acid from going up into my esophagus at night. I only taste the berry flavor. I also have the head of my bed elevated about 6 inches. There is a little melatonin in it to help with sleep, but only 1 mg. I also take 6 mg of melatonin at night to help strengthen LES. Also helpful is RefluxGourmet's yummy Vanilla Caramel Rescue. Take 1 teaspoon after meals to have the "raft" on top of your food, to keep it from going up. It lasts for 2 to 3 hours, then is digested.

I write this at 3AM. Not only am I not able to sleep, but am having worse reflux than I've had for weeks and am in pain from this product! I expected it to hold back reflux, but it hasn't. And while it helped me get to sleep on the front end, I wake every night a few hours later with very bad reflux and can't get back to sleep. This product burns on the way down when I swallow it, too. I had high hopes based on the reviews and even the doctor's recommendation, but it doesn't work for me and it's not returnable. I tried the RefluxGourmet brand and it works wonderfully for me, so I'm sticking with that. I wanted to try this one to help me get to sleep, but I'm losing sleep because of the intense reflux this causes!! Ugh! I wish I could get my money back!

Good product. The only reason I will not give it a 5 star rating is because it's only a temporary fix and does not address the root of my the cause of my GERD issues.Also, it sometimes causes me be constipation. Other than that, it does work just how they says it does.

I’ve been ordering this product for a while and it helped me so much…but, after it went out of stock for a while and was then restocked it now has a different look and flavor. It used to be dark purple and now it is a greyish purple with little dark flecks in it. The flavor is also different and tastes like blueberry muffin mix rather than a berry blend. After 1/2 a month of use I’ve noticed it’s effectiveness is also not the same and my LPR symptoms are returning. So sad. I miss the original formula.

I really wanted to love this, because I have GERD and it would be great to have a supplemental medicine to take before bed. However, I couldn't stand the taste. I don't know why it is so foul, but it made it incredibly hard to swallow. The consistency is like, thick syrup. It works as an effective heartburn relief agent, but that's only if you can get it down. There are other brands with better flavors that are much more tolerable.
