Great project to get started with cross stitch. Good quality.
Really pretty little project kit, good quality materials as well. The seller was extremely helpful during a difficult period for deliveries due to Covid 19 lockdown, and I’d definitely buy from him again. Top marks for communication.

Lovely kit
This is a beautiful little kit. However I would suggest starting in the middle of the fabric to make sure its central, the pattern tells you to start at the edge

Cute bookmark
Now that I am so far through this bookmark I think it is looking very good. I've still got all the outlining to do. There are sufficient good quality threads and you also get the backing and a tassel. I must say that I have found it quite difficult to rate as, for such a small project, I found it more awkward than very large ones which I have completed. I much prefer counted cross stitch but I didn't find the pattern very helpful. Most kits separate the threads but these are not ready separated. The outlining is completed in various colours but according to the pattern you can't tell which is which: you need to keep referring to the coloured picture (Which is quite small). I'm afraid to say that my magnifying glass spent a lot of time out of the box. Personally I'm not so sure about this being for a beginner - there are much better starter kits available. After all my negative comments I do, however, think that it will be a very nice embroidery when finished and I am pleased with it so far.

Exactly As Described
I was very happy with this cross stitch product. The kit contained everything needed to make the bookmark. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow, and there was a degree of challenge to the design which made it very enjoyable and kept me occupied whilst recovering from surgery and being very immobile. The completed bookmark was also very pleasing.

This is a great project which can be completed quite quickly - I'm estimating here but I think it took me about 18hrs in total - The only problem is that you do need good eyesight! I found the holes quite small, and especially difficult when using white on the pale background. The canvas is plain, and you use the printed black and white guide to count the squares and apply the correct colour in the right place! You only have to do the coloured parts, the rest of the canvas is left without stitching on it. You are using embroidery threads, which are supplied in strands of six cut to length, which you split into two, so that you are using three strands of the colour at any one time. I also found the needle difficult to thread, as the eye seemed narrow, and when I used my small wire threading device, because I was using the three strands, I had to pull hard to get the threads through the eye. the techniques used are a cross stitch, running stitch (birds feet, flower parts etc) and french knots (red bits on the flowers) and the instructions tell you how to do all these. Overall this is a beautiful project that once finished comes with a backing and tassel to make the bookmark look very professional, and well finished. I had room to also put the year and a name on the bottom - which gave it a personal touch for the person I was giving it to. This project can be done by someone with no experience (like me) and is very rewarding. This would be great for all ages, even children, and teaches skills which are sadly dying out - so go have a go - you know you want to!
