Good quality and value for the money.
Like several others reviewing this machine, I am impressed with how it works. I had a hip replacement last week and my Doctor recommended this machine for recovery. The cold therapy has helped to control swelling and pain. It's easy to set up, use and maintain. Like others have said, it's a little expensive but worth it. I can see using this in the future for other aches and pains.

Freeze the pain
I purchased this item back in November/December and have only used it after my total hip replacement surgery. This ice machine made recovery a heck of a lot easier. Sure, it's a little pricey, but I assure you it's well worth it, every penny. My doc had a list of items that I could rent or purchase to make my recovery more comfortable as I convalesced at home. One of the items was an ice machine similar to this one that I could've rented for $300 for a measley two weeks. The circumstances of my surgery was a little different than most, and I assumed recovery would be a little bit longer. I'm so glad I bought this machine! It helped me get through a lot of those tough days were the swelling was at its worst. I actually used it everyday for four consecutive weeks, then about three to four days the fifth and sixth week. The steady stream of cold water running through the hip pad really helped me through a tough time. The storage compartment looks like an ice cooler that's made to hold up to six 16.9 Oz frozen water bottles. Once the bottles are inserted you fill the container with water up to the designated water line. The timer is easy to use and you can set the iced water to flow through the pad as often as you like and have it shut down for as long as you'd like(be guided by your doctor's recommendations). The cooler comes with a handle so that it can be easily moved to another location or if it needs to be cleaned. Putting the machine together was as simple as snapping things into pIace, nothing mind boggling about it. I highly recommend!

Great machine. Lessens pain after hip surgery
Fantastic machine. I used it a lot after hip replacement surgery, and never needed anything stronger than aspirin afterwards. I like that you can adjust the length of time and the coldness, enabling me use it all night long.

I would buy it again with what I know now!
I should’ve ordered it a couple days earlier! Yes it is expensive, but it has worked absolutely great 👍. My surgery was 5 days ago and I have it on right now and it is a God send. Convenient, it has a timer that I set for 20 minutes on an 20 minutes off (times on and off are adjustable). It will be used later for applying cold therapy to injuries in the future, cold doesn’t feel as good as heat but it way better for you. The pad I got for my hip is about 22”x13” and comes with 2 stretchy straps with Velcro on them to secure the pad on your body. They work well. The system works well for sleeping too! You can set the timer and you are good to go, just make sure to reload your ice before going down for the night. We use frozen small water bottles and ice cubes, then fill with water. The flow rate thru the pad is also adjustable and with the 20/20, flow 1, 75 degree room, the ice lasts me about 5-6 hours or so. I have experienced no leaks but you need to be careful with the hoses and connections and make sure not to over strain them. I would purchase this again in a second with what I know now!

This worked great for me
Very happy with this purchase. It worked great for me following surgery. I can ice several times a day for extended periods without it being super cold, like with a normal ice pack. When it has been freshly filled with frozen bottles it is plenty cold, though. Even several hours later, at least in my house during winter, it still had enough cold to do a decent job. The build quality is good. The motor is pretty quiet, especially on the "1" lowest setting, which I have been using most of the time. The connection from the hose to the pad seems a little flimsy, but so far I have not had any trouble with it--though I have been treating it pretty gently. The hose has a good length, though manipulating it into the right position it takes a little getting used to, since it is so thickly insulated and strong. Highly recommended. The hospital sent me home with a similar product after the surgery, but I am glad I kept this one rather than return it and use the one they gave me, which did not seem to be of the same quality.
