They want *how* much money for a plastic box? Seriously?Yeah, that's what I thought too. A shame, really, because while I refused to give in to the ransom demands, the rat's nest of wires behind my entertainment center grew ever larger. I tied the individual cables together with Velcro ties, labeled and color-coded them with cable tagging systems, and told myself they were nice, neat, and organized. As long as nobody looked behind them, that is. Back there, it looked like the Gordian knot of electronics.The tipping point was when I finally got a robot vacuum cleaner, and I knew I could never let it into the media room, lest it eat the cable ball of twine. Or, perhaps, be eaten by the twine. It was pretty large by then.I started small, by ordering a couple of smaller boxes from a different company.  Cable Management Box Organizer by DMoose - Wooden Style - Hides Power Strips, Surge Protectors & Cords. Large Size for Entertainment Center, Home Office, Computers - Kids & Pet Friendly  I put it in the other room, where the cable problem was much smaller. Best to walk before running. They worked really well in there, especially since the cover was made to look like wood, and there are wood floors in that room. Also, the top is deliberately bowed to facilitate putting something on top of it, and I needed to do that because the wireless receiver for my subwoofer was too large to fit in the box with the cables. A few zip ties later, along with a nifty zip-up black neoprene tube  DigitGear 4 x Neoprene Cable Management Zipper Sleeve Organizer, Black , and I was feeling pretty smug.I knew the ever-growing mass in the other room was going to need something a bit sturdier, so I bit the bullet and ordered the black one from Bluelounge. When it came, I knew I had the solution. In the end, I used the black one in the back of the room and bought two sage green ones for either side of the entertainment center. I used two power strips  Belkin BE112230-08 12-Outlet Power Strip Surge Protector , one in each box. I unraveled the knot, tied up each cable to shorten it, and ran them to the nearest box. And with that, the insurmountable problem was solved.I should note that at the time of this writing, both the new sage green and midnight blue Bluelounge boxes have incorrect dimensions. The actual sizes for the two new colors are identical to the older black and white large boxes. I took a picture of one of the sage green ones next to a black one, and you can clearly see they are identical other than the color. My media room has sea glass green walls, so the sage green boxes look fantastic in there. My bedroom is azure blue, so the midnight blue one went in that room. The black ones went in less visible places where I wanted them to stay that way.If there is a negative to this sturdy, attractive, well-designed box with a nicely tight-fitting lid, it is this. After getting one and seeing what it does to your wiring nightmare, you will no longer think the price is excessive. On the contrary, you will find yourself gleefully ordering many more of them to solve the problem in every room, not just that one where we can't let the vacuum into. Or company, unless they really like us.If you are having trouble picking colors, the midnight blue one is almost black and will work well in rooms that have predominately cooler colors without red tones like teal, cold grays, and blues. The sage green is close to a grass-stained white. It will work well with warmer colors like browns, taupes, reds, and greens. If you are putting it in a darkened area, the matte black is a good choice. I'd save the white one for areas that already have a lot of white.Very highly recommended.Sean Logue, 2017

It seems silly to buy an empty box for cords, but then you buy it. It arrives. You hide the cords inside.Instantly, you are elevated to the level of organizational overlord and all cords have been banished from your sight. Tears of victory and joy will stream down your face as you see confirmation that a wise decision was made. You are organized. Your home is beautiful.The box is lightweight, simple in design (two wide slits on the side and a lid). It fits multiple cords and outlet extenders/adaptors. It also makes a good under the desk footrest instead of your toes getting tangled in the cords. I have 3 boxes so far and recommend to all my family and friends!

I bought it together with Belkin 12-Outlet Home/Office Surge Protector with 8 ft. Cord, Telephone and Coaxial Protection here: http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B000J2EN4S as this was in the Frequently Bought Together section.The Belkin 12-Outlet Surge Protector barely fits into the box, but is shallow enough to accommodate wrapped up cables. I imagine you would have to buy right angle coaxial adapters to fit coax cable in there, but I'm not sure of the spacing (as I have my box closed at the moment). Phone wires should be fine in that confined space as most phone wires are flat-ish. Other than those two things I was able to fit a USB 2.0 hub as well as my control box for my Cintiq and put this all on a mobile Cintiq desk. Altogether I have my MacBook Pro charger with grounded cable, a desk mounted lamp power cable, USB hub (fairly big), a Cintiq control box that barely fits side to side, 3 brick adapters, and one extension cord that I snake out the side for extra outlets when needed (instead of opening the box to plug extraneous devices in). The only cables that are showing go in several different directions and have one detachment point (where USB, display, and power plug into the same area) so I have one mass of cables tied together with twist ties (included) and one power cable from the surge protector going out to mains power and that's pretty much it. Much cleaner than before and portable as well on the rollable desk. Eventually I plan on upgrading to a much smaller USB 3.0 hub to accommodate my USB 3.0 hard drive which I also have sitting on top of the box (both cables going into the box for a clean look). My only concern is that this is a bit on the expensive side (at most I'd pay $15-20), but I wanted to buy the best (according to Amazon reviews) first before looking at other brands with potentially less quality construction. Would I get one again? I'm glad I have this for my main devices, but I probably would get a smaller version for USB cable corralling. I used these as well as the D-Line Large Cable Tidy Unit to tidy up a mass of PSUs and cables. There are subtle differences between the two, both are equally worthy, you need to look at cable routing and sizing re your specific needs. The Bluelounge is more expensive so only gets 4*.

Underneath my desk would look a mess without it. This is another igneous cable management solution it allows you to gather the excess of your power cables an neatly conceal them in a stylish box that can blend in or stand out depending on how you arrange it.Size:An issue i read about when deciding whether or not to buy this was that it was too small to house a significant number of UK power outlets. I currently have an 8 socket surge protector installed in the box that is not exceptionally slim, just plain standard. i also have eight devices plugged in and the only thing that had that had to be done due to resistant flexes was that it had to be slightly angled as it couldn't sit flat. The lid closed without hesitation and if anything this prevented any heat being transferred to the carpet.Ensure to :check the dimensions of the box against those of your surge protector (extension lead) and if within this dimensions it should fit without a problemI highly recommend this product.

Behind my TV was a rat's nest of cables from a games console, blu-ray player and TV box. Now tidy and clear. Have recommended it to everyone I've talked to - I'm geting boring. I will probably buy another for behind my computer.One point: I had to use a different multi-plug because my original one was too big, best to check the dimensions.
