Work and with no leaks
Been using in the hot and humid nc with no problems. I work outside and walk a lot, and this helps with the heat. I freeze it the night before and will usually last about 3 hours. Haven't had a problems with it leaking and the batteries last forever. The only problem I would say I do have is when it stops cooling, it sucks cause I get used the that cooling it does provide. Use a light shirt, like a jersey cause that works best. If you understand the limitations of this vest, you will be more that happy with what it can do. Worth every penny.

Las Vegas Heat is No Match for This Thing
This is my second Compcooler backpack. I had the older version and used it for 3 years, practically every day throughout the summer in Las Vegas riding a motorcycle before the pump finally crapped out. I fixed the pump, then it died again. Time for a new pack. This updated pack fixed many of the issues the original suffered from. The first is the bladder. I know there are some complaints about it leaking, but let's face it - nothing is perfect and you can get replacements. Keep in mind this is a $230 cooling system as opposed to others for $600+. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised that my bladder hasn't leaked yet. The old pack had a much cheaper bladder and the connections to the tubing were horrible. This updated version fixes many of the original issues - most notably, being able to easily remove the bladder for easier filling. The pack overall is not as thick as the older one, but it is taller. I wear this under my motorcycle jacket (without the backpad) and it's pretty comfortable. While this pack only comes with a 2 liter bladder, you can get a 3 liter. If you're going to be out a long time in desert heat, get it - the 3 pack when completely frozen will last for several hours in Vegas heat. Besides, its nice having an extra bladder in case you use one up (or if you're not going to be out for as long as the 2 liter is definitely lighter when frozen). The Velcro straps are pretty much the same as the old model and hold well. I like that the power switch for the pump has been moved to come out from the top of the pack (it previously went through a loop on the Velcro strap and would sometimes fall out if I had the Velcro really tight). The new pump has a USB connector on it - this is used for powering the pump. I only tested it for a minute or so just to confirm that's what it was for as it's not mentioned in the manual at all. Since USB voltage is only 5V and the battery is higher (around 7.5V), I'm not sure if this will affect how well the pump will work. Needless to say, if your battery dies and you have a USB battery pack or USB charging set up on your motorcycle, you can connect it in a pinch. The battery is the same as the old version. These things are workhorses. They last probably 6 to 8 hours of continuous use. I liked the placement of the battery on the old pack better - it was on the flap that opened instead of behind the bladder. Also, the battery compartment is fairly tight, so its harder to get in and out than the old pack. Not terribly difficult, but not as good as the older one. Probably the plus side to this is since its inside further, its less likely to get hot with the sun hitting it. The biggest issue is if you need to replace the battery with the bladder in - its a bit harder to get to and you'll need to at least partially remove the bladder to get to it now.The pump placement - I understand why it's at the bottom of the pack, but it's not protected from getting wet (from condensation or spillage). Not a big deal when it gets a little wet, but over time it may start to rust inside as a result. This is one of the two problems I had with the pump on my older pack (the other was hard water residue buildup, which I can't blame Compcooler for).In general, this really is a great pack and makes being outside when its hot SO much better. And yes, it even works when it's humid (which happens here in the summer as we have monsoons). Still, Vegas summer humidity isn't like Florida humidity, so I can't speak for how well it would work there.I'd definitely recommend this to someone if they asked me.

Very nice quality!
I purchased the Compcooler 2018 Univest this past summer for working outdoors in the humid weather we have in Arkansas. This item exceeded my expectations! The quality is exceptional. This cool vest circulates cold water through tubes that are sewn in to the vest. There is a camel-back style container that goes in the zippered compartment on the backside of the vest along with the small battery and the water pump. Just add ice and water to the bladder (or freeze it first) and your in store for a nice cool down during the heat of the day. The battery will actually last about 6 hours (tested several times this summer) which will usually get a person through any task. I did contact the seller's customer service one time with a question and they replied very promptly and professionally. I have no complaints or regrets with this purchase. 5/24/2023 UPDATE I used this cooling vest again last summer and it worked great! No complaints on the durability! May need to get a new battery for this summer.

Leaks
The vest leaks. I cannot be sure where the leak is as I cannot find it. I think it’s from the connection from the bladder into the return line. Very disappointed. I tried this when I first got it and then put it back in the box till it became 110° here in Phoenix Arizona and now it’s leaking and I’m out the money because it’s not under warranty anymore. This is my second test I purchased I purchased another one about three years ago and unfortunately it’s inside condition. No fault of the product just worn out.

Great product to cool you off.
I work outside all day long putting up chainlink fencing for construction site and even special events. Here in Houston it is hot and humid as he’ll. Using the cooling vest the past month had been a life saver. The vest is constructed very well. I do abuse the vest by carrying rolls of fence on my shoulders have had not issues on ripping the vest. The bladder once frozen will last me about 3 to four hours. I turn the vest on for a bit to cool off the shut it off to conserve battery power. Which at first I left on the whole day with no issue. The customer service at compcooler is amazing. I had and issue with the charger source. So I contacted them with my issue they responded with in 24hour to say they are sending me a new charger and received it promptly. They cooling vest is pricey but well worth the money is helping keep your core temperature in safe levels. I highly recommend compcooler vest.
