An innovative tourniquet that also has other first aid / EMS uses
This is an innovative approach to bleeding control. The quality is good, the tourniquet works as it should, and it's compact and easy to carry (especially while still in the package). It also works well to secure a pressure bandage or splint, so it has first aid / emergency medical care uses beyond simply being a tourniquet. The only significant limitation of this product is that while it's easy to apply to someone else using both your hands, and relatively easy to apply to your own leg if both your hands are available, it's difficult to apply effectively using only one hand. Overall, it's a great tool for treating others, but less easy to use for self-care than some other designs.

Great Addition to IFAK/First Aid Kit
More economical than a CAT tourniquet, having the ability to cut off blood flow to an affected appendage is a top priority for any med kit. Simple but effective.

Fantastic Tourniquet
If you are an active person, indulge in contact sports spend time in the woods or are a prepper, you must get this Swat Tourniquet it is made well and even provides instruction on the outside that indicates depending on the type of injury how tight it should be by how ? as you pull tighter it starts changing the diamond into a square or or rectangle, it is truly designed excellently and can be used over and over (hopefully not) great for the car or truck or motorcycle takes up no room and can save your life, it can also be made into a sling in event you broke your arm or used to create a splint for a leg injury with a wood or solid backing to immobilize the limb, uses are only limited by your imagination and for the cost you probably will not find a better more friendly Tourniquet period.Barry A PeraltaPeralta Insurance Specialist

Great product to hopefully never need!
A great product that you hope you'll never need!Hint: "Waste" one just to practice application technique so you're not as likely to fumble around using it when it's really needed. Then demonstrate it to a friend or two.

Worth the extra weight, I think.
I saw this in my most recent Wilderness First Aid class and had to try it. You wrap the band around the limb and start stretching as you wrap until the printed rectangles turn into squares and the ovals into circles. Tuck the excess under the wrap and it holds itself in place.Several reviewers here said they liked it because it could be applied one-handed. I'm skeptical - no matter how I try, it takes two hands to get the wrap started. This tourniquet is also heavier than other commercial tourniquets - 4 oz compared to about 1 oz for the CAT style. Negligible for a kit in your car but it adds up for a backpacker. On the other hand, this style tourniquet has some real advantages over the CAT.1. It's really wide. Pressure applied over 4" is better for the patient and more forgiving for the aid provider.2. It's intuitive to use. The desired tightness is obvious from the markings on the rubber. If I'm the victim, I could probably talk my Scouts through it's use even as I'm going into shock.3. Multiple uses. Pull less tightly and you have a great pressure bandage.4. Wrap like an Ace bandage to provide support for a sprain or a strain.5. At 56" long (unstretched) it's the longest thing in my aid kit. I can make a workable bandage around a large man's chest. No need to sacrifice my tarp or sleeping bag yet.6. If you need to use the Stimson (fatigue) method to reduce a dislocated joint, this is a lot more comfortable to wrap around the limb than a rope.As an added bonus, I've been carrying a bicycle inner tube to lash two hiking poles together for my nightly tarp support. When not needed for an emergency, this replaces that too.Bottom line - it's heavier and can be tricky to first put on but I think it has enough other uses to be worth the weight.

Not Designed for Cows
I can't really submit a review because I have not yet used it, hopefully will never need it. It just sits in my glove compartment. I gave it 5 stars because it looks nice. Will update if I ever have to use it.

Versatile and small edc
Nice to have a small quality tourniquet on hand just in case. If carrying a CAT is a bit awkward this is my first option.
