Daily Word Ladders: Grades 2-3

As a homeschool mom, I wanted something simple and engaging to help us ease into our school day. Daily Word Ladders (Grades 2–3) has been a great addition to our morning routine. Each activity takes about 5 to 10 minutes, which is perfect for warming up the brain without overwhelming my child. It feels more like a puzzle than traditional workbook work, so there is less resistance and more curiosity. I love that it builds spelling, vocabulary, phonics, and critical thinking all at once. My child has to pay close attention to each letter change, which really strengthens focus and word awareness. This is a great tool for homeschool families who want something short, structured, and actually fun to start the day. Highly recommend.

Daily Word Ladders has become a favorite in our home learning routine. I got these for my struggling 4th graders and they are great. They are just difficult enough to make them work their brain but not so hard as to frustrate them. Answer keys are in the back of the book, you may want to remove (and possibly save) the pages as one student figured that out rather quickly. 🙃

It is good

I liked this book but it needs more colour! The book helps to build vocabulary, writing skills. There are words puzzles with 3-4 words to guess (aka easy start). And, there are 6 or so words to figure out. It is a simple tool. It is an old fashioned way to learn and play. But it is too sad that I had to do many tricks to encourage kids to use it.

These have been great for my son who loves solving mysteries. This has been a great tool for expanding his vocabulary and relationship with words in a fun way. He had many negative experiences around words, speaking, and reading, and this has been a fun way to help repair his confidence.

My 10 yr old loves Word Ladders and thinks of them as "fun" instead of school work. I can see how they would be used for spelling, but we also use them for comprehension, vocabulary, and most important- writing! We enjoy doing them together, giggle a lot and she doesn't even know she's doing school work.

My son is challenged just enough with these. He enjoys passing time on long car rides completing word ladders. We will definitely get the next one!

Bought the higher book to use with my class they are loving it so have bought this one for the lower years, going down a storm.

The book covers numerous interesting topics, and the questions are interesting, the words are common t challenging. It is thoughtfully crafted. As I use it to teach English, it exposes kids to a plethora of vocabulary that helps them expand and reinforce what they know. Ready to copy and use, a wonderful resource.

super interesting....great fun

A great addition to any language arts curriculum. Could also be used as an easy language arts summer review. It’s a fun way to add reading, phonics, spelling and vocabulary in a quick lesson. I’m not finding its name to be done independently so far, so I may need to go down a level, but it’s a fun thing to do together as a group.
