Went together very easily and instructions were pretty clear. Mounted to the wall and is very sturdy and holds lots of coats

It's very sturdy, and I love that there is plenty of storage. However, it's super annoying that all of the screws are just lumped haphazardly together and none of the pieces are labeled. The directions leave something to be desired when it combines like 5 steps into a single one. I highly recommend reading the instructions before assembling. I had to take off one of the side pieces because they have you put in the back slat at the very end, and it would NOT slide in with everything fully assembled. You can also see a line where the two pieces meet when you hang it.

This unit does a great job in meeting our needs. We needed a lot of hooks to hang jackets & sweatshirts. We also needed shelving. I really like the mounting method since I think it does a good job of distributing the weight of the jackets across multiple studs. We weren't really completely paying attention to the mounting holes for the hooks and ended up mounting the back panel upside down. We had to remove it and turn it after almost completing assembly but this ended up not being too big of a deal and we fixed that mistake pretty quickly with no ill effects. We are now looking at buying the shorter version of this shelf for our sun room to hang towels when we are using our hot tub just outside this room.

This looks great once it is put together and has a nice design. However, it was very difficult to put together. My husband works with wood and tools all of the time and it took him quite some time to put it together. The directions are not well done. He knew what tools he needed, but if he had followed the directions as written we would not have been able to get it up on the wall. It is a great product, but be aware that you will need to drill out the holes for the screws to go into the studs. There is no way you can do this with a manual screw driver if you are getting it into a stud (and you do need to get it into studs or it will not stay on the wall).

Overall, we're pleased with this product. Product was well packed and had no damage when received. The pre-drilled holes for the hooks are a bit off center, which makes the hooks title slight once installed. Instructions were fairly easy to implement. This unit is long, so be careful when mounting on a wall that is not level. The mounting bracket on back helps with this. We added a few additional screws to help stabilize the product once on the wall. The number of hooks makes it handy for all our stuff, umbrellas, backpacks, coats, purses, etc. The only drawback I can see is the finish comes off a bit easy when bumped, but nothing a furniture marker can't easily fix.
