I had a far more expensive machine that I couldn’t get parts for anymore. I bought this Singer machine and I love it. It does everything my old machine did plus more. It’s a step above a basic machine and perfect when you don’t want an expensive computerized machine that is expensive to fix. Perfect for quilt piecing and garment making.

This machine is just what I needed to do free motion quilting (FMQ). I am new to FMQ and was not getting good results with my other sewing machine. The C7290Q has speed control. I am quilting at the slowest speed and I see a definite improvement with the slower speed. Regarding the bobbin: look at the diagram closely. The first time I tried to prepare the bobbin the thread was extremely loose! I think Singer should make their diagram bigger. Regarding the walking foot: it took me a few days before I got the walking foot on properly. I ended up taking the needle out of the machine, turning it on its back ( on a pillow), and then getting the foot on in the right position.

This sewing machine has been absolutely terrible. For one, it doesnt come with a user manual you have to pay $20 extra for it 🙃 Two, a brand new sewing machine shouldn't be giving me this many problems. Its been birds nesting so ive done everything I know to fix the birds nesting and still having issues its like the bobbin thread is not working properly. The needle has broken off two times and the second time it broke off in two pieces and is stuck in the machine. I was so excited to get this for my birthday and start my sewing process. Everyone I talked to that has been sewing for years said I should not be having this many problems especially with a $400 machine. I am very disappointed and will probably have to return it and get a refund.

I have been using this machine since August, it has had numerous bobbin issues, lots of bird nests and a few weird sounds. It works alright but not the level of quality I expected. I have adjusted it over and over but still have issues.

Just what I was looking for

I still have not been able to get singer to replace my foot petal. It's damaged. It runs by itself once I stop sewing. Please help me with this issue. The machine is fine, I just need a foot petal. #C-8000 Thank you Yvonne Johnston

The machine keeps sewing after releasing the pedal. Seems dangerous

Love it so far and I’ve only used the straight stitch
