Awesome little heater
This unit is amazing! Easy to install. Hose adapters have both 1.25 and 1.5 sizes. Heated an 8 by 14 pool from 74 to 82 degrees in less than 5 hours (outside temp in mid 70s). Very impressed!!

Small and mighty!
This heater beat our expectations. It can keep our 16’ above ground pool 90+ degrees. We saw no noticeable increase in our electricity bill. Easy to install with a sand filter, and seems designed well to function in a pool environment. The app is as easy as can be but mostly only functional for changing the temperature settings. Would buy again.

Defective
Arrived when it said it would. Packaging was good. Appeared to be well made. Heater was defective. The heater recommends using 1500gph pump. I was using the pump that came with the pool which meets this requirement. No errors on the panel to suggest an issue. The heater simply didn't heat the water.

So far so good
I purchased a different brand heat pump for my hottub and I had to return it because of how loud it was (its fan sounded like one of those bounce house blowers, it was obnoxious)...I was pleasantly surprised that this unit was no louder than a small window a/c unit, perhaps even quieter. The fan is basically silent, the only thing you can hear is the compressor but it seems they install a sound blanket around the compressor making the unit run as quiet as possible. The heat it outputs is beyond adequate for my ~200 gallon hottub, when not in use the unit only needs to run for 25-40 minutes every 6-7 hours! When in use, it has more than enough power to keep up even with the lid removed on the coldest of nights (for my location, high 30s-low 40s)...this is exactly what I wanted becuase the original electric heater on my hottub was very weak and the water would become luke warm quickly with the jets on cover off on those cold nights and I would need to get out. The defrost mode seems to work well, only pausing heating for a minute or two to thaw out and then going right back to heating. No doubt this unit is going to save on electricity with how well it heats and how little it needs to run to keep temp on my hottub.I have only two minor gripes. 1. The app control is hit or miss, doesnt connect unless im near the unit despite being paired to my router. But again, this is minor because I dont expect the need to monitor or control my hottub unless im there in person.2. The default temperature differential was set at 4 degrees from factory. The manual provided gives zero info on how this can be changed. I.E. if its set to 104, it will let the water drop all the way to 100 before restarting to heat back up to 104. Reaching out to the seller, they were able walk me through a secret menu on the display to alter this setting. This secret menu seems to have a long list of different settings that can be adjusted. I asked the seller if they could provide data on what all these other settings do, and they seemed to not want to tell me... asking "what else do you need to adjust". This unit isnt cheap and I paid for and OWN IT. What I want is a list of what all the settings are on something that is now mine, it doesnt matter if I need to change anything else right now. All of these settings should have been outlined in the manual, i shouldnt have to pull teeth to find out what they are. The controller inside the unit looks like its made by some other company, so I might see if I can find more info on it that way. Deducting a star for this headache.Overall a great experience.

Update - 6/5/2025- excellent customer service - buy the correct size for pump and pool !
Installed unit - 59degree weather in northeast figured I’d buy a heater for my pool - didn’t do my research and found that heat pumps draw air from outside to work - unit ran for 2 hrs and stopped due to ice pool didn’t even raise a degree - returned unit - after further research these cheap units only work when it’s hot out - bottom line won’t heat your pool when it’s cold outsideUpdate 6/5/2025After my original 16,000 BTU unit failed, Varpoolfaye sent me a 30,000 BTU replacement right away. Their customer service was amazing—fast, caring, and determined to make things right. This unit works best in temps over 65°F and heats gradually—about 2°F per hour above 80°F, and around 1.5°F below that depending on your pool size and pump flow. I went from 64°F to 77°F in one day (9am–8pm) with 6000 gallon 16x48 pool with a intex sand filter 3000 gallons per hour .The app is great—it shows inlet/outlet temps, coil and exhaust temps, plus a timer I synced with my pool pump. Use a solar cover at night—it makes a big difference in retaining heat.Pro tip: If your pump flows fast, a return valve helps regulate flow through the heater. Slowing the water down by creating back pressure allows a bit more transfer time in the heat exchanger for water to warm - not necessary once it’s been running for hours but initially it helped raise outlet temp quicker ( you want a 2 degree difference minimum outlet to inlet temp)Bottom line: If you want warmer water during pool season, buy this. If you’re looking to extend the season, go with a gas heater. Very happy with this product and the company behind it!

Working great so far!
We have had this heater hooked up for about 2 weeks now and so far it’s working great. We have a 13x7 pool for our kids, that’s about 1500 gallons and we’re able to get our pool to 90 degrees in just a couple hours! We do keep a cover on at night to help reduce heat loss so the pool is getting down to around 72ish at night. It was fairly easy to hook up and has been running great. Overall really happy with our purchase! Just hope it lasts.
