Q: Is this "Real" Damascus steel or just etched to look like?

Just got mine. It's what we call Damascus. Or welded pattern steel. Very well made.

Q: Is the blade hardened and tempered?

It appears to have been given some hardening and tempering but what to what extent I can't tell. The dagger I received was very sharp, oiled to protect it against corrosion and is a very good to excellent quality blade and I'm thinking of ordering a 2nd 1.

Q: Is it perfectly balanced?

It’s well-balanced well-constructed and very sharp. I would not say it’s “perfectly balanced.”

Not super sharp but still effective/pretty

The swirled edges are not super sharp but the tip is. It makes for a really unique style push dagger and it’s pretty to look at!

Decent dagger. Well made. Great design.

Not much to dislike really. It's a dagger. Welded pattern steel or Damascus blade. Actually the whole thing is Damascus as it's a one piece construction. Came with oil on it. Which I cleaned off with a degreaser. I used Ren wax on it to see if that doesn't seal it up and protect from rust. All in all decent.

The pattern is beautiful

I love the knife itself. It’s truly a beautiful piece of art and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this again for a gift. However it is super greasy and gross feeling when you receive it. The grease washes right off though. No problem at all

Beautiful Piece of Artwork

My husband loves this knife! Be sure to keep it polished because it rusts very quickly... this is not a flaw, it is just due to the steel combined with the elements and with oil and sweat from handling it.
