Brilliant value and work well, but....
These are brilliant value and seem to work well. They have a claimed rating of 16 Amp. That sounds rather optomistic and should be down rated to about half of that. They are ideal for table lamps and low current appliances. As many others have pointed out, the underside of the adaptor fouls the on off switch of most switched sockets in the UK. This results in a poor fitting into the socket and could lead to instability of the product and bad connection to the wall socket. With higher loads, this could overheat the pins of the plug and wall socket. I have found I have one twin socket that this plugs into perfectly and this was a cheap socket from Screwfix. If you plan on using this on an extension socket/multi socket or unswitched socket outlet there should not be a pboblem. I would still not want to rely on the claimed current handling though.Setup is quick and easy and the unit responds instantly. These are only suitable for connection to 2.4ghz wifi so will not operate on 5ghz. If you are famillier with router settings, it's easy to set up a second access point with a 2.4ghz wifi. Some routers use the same SSID for both 5 and 2.4 ghz wifi so change the name on one or both SSIDs so you can ensure you connect to the correct one.The app it well thought out and various time settings can be set up via the mobile phone. Connection to Alexa and Google home was easy and works well. There is also IFTTT compatability which I have experimented with and am pleased with. The app also shows power consumption on a per day and historic basis and is a good feature.I would recommend this product but, do bear in mind the safety issues involved with poor fitting and use on low powered appliances only.

Budget smart plug
Another 'Tuya' smart plug running on the Smart Life app. Setup was a little challenging, but that;s probably my fault as both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz are combined on my router but got it working in the end. The app itself is fine, has plenty of nice features like schedules and timers and also shows your power usage which is a nice plus at this price point. Works perfectly fine with Google home as well. WiFi range may not be the best as it does drop out occasionally, but that probably also because it's quite far from the router. My main downside is that the plugs themselves are a little big for my standard UK plugs, with the corner pressing down on the power switch when fully plugged in. Would be nice if it was a little smaller. Another thing is that the physical button is on the side, which may or may not be an issue for you depending on whether you are ever going to physically press it or not. I like having the option of using the button as well, but due to the button being on the side, you cannot use it on a power strip unless you place it on the very end, as other plugs will block the button if it is in the middle. Apart from these minor gripes it's great and you can't really beat it for value for money.

Size Seems to be the Issue
These are good plugs - hook them up via the Smart Life app and you can add them to Alexa. The Smart Life app is also OK - better than some of the others although they're all pretty similar. However, most of these sorts of thing use Smart Life so it's good to only need the one app to control everything. So, simple to set up, configure and add to Alexa. They do only support 2.4GHz so make sure your wireless solution has that band enabled in order to connect these. As with most of these plugs, so it seems, the physical size of them is the only downer as it does slightly interfere with the socket power switches. However, this will depend on your sockets so some will get more mileage out of these than others with regards to fitting in flush or not.

Great product for the future
I really like the look of these on here and already having an amazon alexa and a phillips smart plug I wanted a couple more but without the high price tag so I tried these and must say I've been very impressed. They work very well and aren't too dissimilar to the more expensive phillips plugs but for the price I can accept the slightly lower quality. They work perfectly well with the alexa there are a few more times where the command hasn't been heard or processed properly but in reality having to repeat in isn't the end of the world. In terms of setting it up it wasnt any different to usual but even as usual ive found can be a bit of a pain. Overall id definitely recommend buying this product if youd like to future up your home and it also allows you to turn some of your items such as a heater on before you've even gotten home.

Easy to install
I purchased this product because I wanted to control a couple of fans in my living room. I have some WiFi lightbulbs, so I already have the Smart Life app on my phone and linked to my Alexa account.Plugged in and pressed button on the side of the plug for 5 secs, the Smart Life app soon found the plug and set it up, this automatically added it to Alexa as well. I then set up a routine on Alexa, so when I say “ Alexa, too hot” it turns the fans on.Very straightforward and easy to set up for me. I noticed some people had commented about the plugs not fitting properly on a switched socket. My plugs are on a non switched extension lead, so no problem for me, but I did try in a switched socket and it is too large and turns the switch off, so not suitable for a switched socket outlet.

Some hassle connecting to WiFi
Bought these with some money I got from Santa. They work as expected but two things to be aware ofFirstly they are quite wide and don’t really fit into the space on the socket, comfortably. At least, not on mine. Hard to say if this is s common issue with these types of plugs but worth beating in mind. I just get them into the sockets and keep the main switch down in the “on” position but worth checking the size.Secondly they were difficult to connect initially as they only connect to a 2.4 ghz band. I’m not technically minded but when I tried to connect them close to the router I could not connect. Once I realised I have a dual band router and the 2.4 ghz band is available in the more distant corners of this (small) house, I was able to connect in an adjacent room first time. All working well now, so happy with purchase despite these niggles
