Good for vegetarians because there are not many vegetarian sources for iodine. Also good if you are consuming high phytoestrogen foods like soy which iodine helps in balancing.

This is the seaweed which has highest iodine. People who doesn't eat any fish should eat this. From 1g kombu you can get maximum iodine for a day. Super heathy food. It looks mouldy but this is what it should be. If there is not white powder on Kombu means umami deep taste is washed away. Even before use no need to wash the kombu. Just cut and put in the soup directly or make powder and mix in the food. Super tasty.

Received item with while mold growth on the edges. It's really disappointing that a reputed company like Urban Platter, has lowered the quality of their products so much, like this.

Great product. I regularly use it for making Japanese and Korean soups. I felt that the product was a little moist when it was delivered. I dried it in the sun before storing it. No other complaints. It is great value for money!

We are vegetarians. We bought it as a recipe demanded it. It is a vegetarian product. But since it is sourced from ocean, it smells like fish/aquarium. If you have sensitive nose, this product is not for you as your vegetarian dish will smell like shrimp dish. No problem if you are using it in recipes that take advantage of the fish smell.
