Great tool for cleaning the printhead
Due to some cheap inks I was having issues with my printer and thanks to this kit I was able to clean out the printhead of the bad ink and get the print quality back to new. Honestly this is a much better approach than buying a new print head and so long as you take it easy you will be successful with the flushing process. The instructions are garbage however there are plenty of videos on how to use a tool like this so it was pretty straightforward to get the whole process going.

Stay away -- I was very careful and still broke printhead
I broke my printhead with this product. The instructions are to suck out fluid. This was impossible --maybe because there was a tiny cap that should be removed. Not sure. But air doesn't pass through the blue piece (and I'm guessing this is done on purpose so it doesn't leak). Step two is clean out head from inside (as most competitors show). I purchased fluid separately and did this. While only two colors were spotty, I injected the fluid in all four colors. I injected VERY slowly (because I read to be careful about this). I dried the printhead an re-inserted it. It didn't recognize any ink in two ink cartridges. (I had just replaced them). So I installed two more NEW ink cartridges -- and the printer shows them as empty. Now the printer does not work. I should have stuck with so-so, rather than broken (and paying for this garbage). Clearly, there was a lot of ink that was released, but either HP is too fragile or this dropper is not protective enough. Either way, don't buy this.

Worked great, make your own solution
My print head was not printing colors correctly. Repeated head clean and deep clean did not work. After using this I'm printing color photos again perfectly. The instructions were fine, from my perspective.Although this does not come with solution, it is simple to make at home. Just search the web and you will find a recipe for it, which is a couple of ounces of rubbing alcohol, distilled water, and few drops of dish soap like dawn. I used 8 ounces to flush all the heads sufficiently, and I recommend just making 16 ounces, then toss what you don't use. You also need enough distilled water to flush afterwords. This is a VERY messy process. Do it in a sink that won't stain. Wear gloves. No joke. I have a stainless kitchen sink which was perfect for this. I also had a couple disposable plates to set the syringe on, or the head, whatever, as needed, so as not to stain my counter. One thing to be aware of, when you get to the step where you are forcing solution through the head using the little yellow tip pressed over the ink inputs to the head, when you pull the syringe away, sometimes the syringe slips out of the yellow tip and the tip stays down in the print head. My hands are too large to reach in there to pull it out. I had a pair long needle nose pliers that allowed me to get under it to slip it off. You could probably fashion something else if you don't have them.Anyway, this fixed my problem completely.

Worked perfectly. Caution, there were no instructions. Better know what you are doing. If you research and have a understanding what needs to be done then it's an excellent product. I didn't use their cleaning solution. So don't know how effective it is. Instead used 1oz 91 percent Isopropanol Alcohol (high proof rubbing), 15oz distilled water, 3 drops Dawn Dish Detergent. Followed by 5 rinses of distilled water. Next time I'll try their solution. The price was worth the special jig to couple the syringe to the print head. Buy 1, use it forever.

At the first sign of a print problem clean the printer head
I procrastinated as you use up a lot of ink when cleaning the printer head. The black print was missing every 3rd line of print, cyan completely stopped working and the other colors had problems. The results you see are after the first cleaning of the print head. Black is now working perfectly cyan is a 1/3rd better. I am attempting a longer soak in hope that I can get the rest of the clogged jets to opened up.

Follow directions and proceed with care.
This worked like a charm. I did what it said on the directions plus I looked up more information on YouTube and it worked great. I was afraid I was going to have to buy a new print head for $140.00 plus!! No need. I bought new ink as suggested on YouTube and it arrived yesterday. I had to to a printer alignment twice and all is fixed and ready to use. I saved to much money doing this myself. One suggestion which I ignored. You should use some kind of gloves when cleaning the print head, it is really messy. I did it in an old bucket but got ink on my hands. Had to scrub with with Comet cleanser to get it off so it worked out OK...

More like a maintenance tool than a repair tool.
I think a lot of people are buying this when they see the error message that the printhead is missing or failed.I can see the use of this as a maintenance tool to clean your printhead before it breaks. But calling it a repair tool I think is misleading.

DON'T BUY IT!
Terrible product with terrible instructions! This did not fix the clogged print head and only left a big mess! If you even attempt to use this, wear latex gloves just to take out the print head. The print head unit will bleed ink all over your hands if you are not careful. If you flush out the print cartridge, you will leave ink all over the place that will not wash out. You have to be really desperate to try this and not just buy a new print head. Buyer be warned!
