I already have the Ultimate yogurt maker and love it. Very well designed and simple to use. The same applies for their yogurt strainer. I just used it to strain some kefir that was slightly over-fermented and it worked great. Whey in the bottom which I can use for cooking and nice, creamy kefir in the top which has a yogurt-like consistency. Can't wait to try it with the next batch of yogurt I make in their yogurt maker. It's large enough for big batches but was easy to use for this small batch I just tried. Very easy to clean.

Just received it today. Washed it and have batch of yogurt in it already. Seems well made. The porous screening material is extremely thin, curious to see how long it lasts. So far it is working well, first batch comment. It holds quite a bit, i normally make 1.5-2L at a time so this will work well. Only time will tell.Update: I have run a few batches of yogurt through this strainer. When I use cheesecloth in a strainer it takes about two hours to achieve nice thick Greek style yogurt. With this strainer, after 6 hours the yogurt has lost some of its whey, but is no where near as thick as just using cheesecloth. This is a nice strainer, but I get better results with cheesecloth. And I just wash the cheesecloth out, let it dry, and it is ready for next batch. That is my personal opinion, others will surely disagree, if nothing else then to just disagree.

I started making yogurt in my instant pot and the only part of the process that was mildly annoying was going through a lot of cheesecloth to strain the yogurt for Greek yogurt. This strainer takes all of the guess work out of it and is the perfect size for my 3 quart instant pot batch. Now that I don’t have to use cheese cloth every time this strainer is quickly paying for itself. It separates the whey without getting any milk solids in it. The only downside as other reviews have mentioned is that the lid fits so securely it can be a little challenging to get off. On the plus side, the yogurt stays very fresh and does not pick up any odors from the refrigerator because of that tight seal so it’s worth it. It also washes up easily. Highly recommend the Ultimate yogurt jars as well— everything I’ve gotten from this brand has been high-quality and works extremely well.

some straining issues

Paired with the MILKMAN 2-quart, the routine become easy. The strainer is easy.... but I suggest TENDERNESS with the screens. They are DELICATE because of their thinness. The container is tight, it catches the whey, makes an easy pour into a drink container - if you like that kind of stuff - and separates a SLAB of thick, Greek yogurt ready for your creativity. Around here, apparently, we are going beyond.... this is our second strainer - to pair with another 'cooker.'

Works very well and easy to wash. Drains easily without making a mess with wet cheese cloth and is large enough to drain when using a gallon of milk when yogurt is divided in half.

Love this! I can strain two full quarts of yogurt in one blow and the strainer can then go in the dishwasher. Perfect for my yogurt maker.
