The shipping weight of the Sodium Metal is a pound; it was sealed in its own wrapping. The mineral oil was in separate bottles, and included was a clear plastic container with a screw-on lid. Once you get the Sodium Metal and are ready to use it, take it out of its wrapper, drop it in the container, and pour the mineral oil over the top so that it can't react to the moisture in the air. Wear gloves. I was impressed with how quickly it came and how well packaged it was. And the stuff is a "blast" to play with!
