Works as expected. Simply set it on a solid surface and lower your existing printer/paper cassette combo onto this paper cassette and you’re good to go. I did turn my printer off first and unplug it from power before installing, and I had no issues at all with installation. I had also pre-loaded some paper (not full) into it before installation but I don’t know if that’s necessary or not.

Both the printer and the additional tray were purchased new at the same time. Per instructions, I did not connect any cables before combining the two components. I placed the additional tray on the table, then placed the printer on top of the tray, aligning it so that it fits neatly. Job done!Then I proceeded with the initial setup of the printer, and the printer recognized the paper tray. Perfect!

This helped to make my printer more productive. It was a little on the high side but it was needed

The additional paper tray was easy to install. Just be sure to turn off the machine and turn it back on to make it recognize the new paper tray.

If you could get the copier to recognize this larger capacity tray as the default it would be great. You have to tell it each time;

It's very dumb that Canon would ship a printer (MF455DW in this case) with a 250 sheet paper tray, when it is for small business. I love the speed of this printer but hated filling the paper tray and having to find somewhere to store the other half of the opened paper ream. Now with the added cassette I can just run down the main drawer and pull from the second tray. Or I could even make a preset on my computer that pulls from the new Cassette 2 by default.Installation was simple, I just powered off the printer while I moved it on top of the new cassette, powered back on and everything was recognized. (be sure to remove the orange tape on the cassette before installing)FYI: When running the same paper in the built-in cassette and the expansion cassette, it will automatically pull from the 2nd cassette without interruption.
