Quattro 48V 5000VA 70A

This is the gold standard of off grid inverters, not cheap but worth every penny. They’re built to work with multiple types of power inputs, and can be used with just a generator, just solar, just a grid input, or a combination of all 3. I have two systems with these inverters, one is pure off grid and the other is grid connected. I’ve never had to worry about how much power I’m using from the off grid system with the auto generator start functionality, and I have the grid connected system set up to shift loads for Time of Use billing. Since I’ve installed these inverters I’ve had zero time without power. Whole home battery backup with a way to minimize generator run time. That being said, these are not plug and play. They do require some knowledge of both DC and AC electrical work. Initial programming wasn’t hard for me, but I can see it being a bear for a lot of people. I was offered initial programming by the folks at Inverters-R-Us out of Reno, NV (they sell on here) which would make things easier for everyone who doesn’t want to do odd things with batteries and switch generator fuel types semi regularly.

This Victron Quattro is the main power distribution source in my coach RV. It is very easy to use and very intuitive and connects seamlessly to all of the other Victron devices in my system. It has two inputs and switches between them unnoticeably. These include being plugged into the grid or utilizing my onboard generator to both charge my battery banks and manage the power flow through my coach. It is set up to automatically start my generator when my batteries are discharged. This takes over power management for the coach while the batteries are recharging. When the Victron Quattro sees that the batteries are charged, it shuts down the generator and returns to inverting. It is a living breathing cycle while I am off grid. Unmatched quality, and worth every penny.

Inverters R Us has a knowledgeable staff with the information you need . .. as for Victron It's NOT off grid.. as internet is required to make it work,, configure, update,,, that said my system is slightly complex.. ( review update) I've been Off Grid for 2 years now and my V E system has worked almost flawlessly. Runs entire house, garage and large pool pump. But won't run the Plasma Torch or large Welder, as both are hungry for amperage. My backup system has never been turned on and I don't know if it works. LoL.. my V E hasn't failed. I've had other offgriders envy my Blue boxes, stating they wish they had gone with Victron.

Installed in our boat to power our electrical needs and also too maintain the house bank when connected to shore power. Easy to install. Bit heavy, but very nice product. The slot near the DC connection is very tight for the 4/0 wire but does pass thru. If it were loose then it might chafe, which would be bad. Not using all its features yet, but will be eventually.

My last install was dual multiplus 3kva's in parallel. This time I went with a single Quattro 48volt 5000/70/120. Wow I really love Victron equipment! The Quattro seems to be a tad quieter with the "thump" when the Power Assist kicks in vs the dual Multiplus units. It also seems to run cooler.

Best item I ever bought for my boat. I Never have to worry about tripping the shore power breaker again, with the awesome boondocking power assist feature. Solid charger and inverter all in one.

The equipment showed damage; the metal was bent and misaligned.

Best inverter charger on the market, don't waist your time with the stuff from china like I did, however they should include the interface with this unit, so also get yourself the interface to set this unit as required via your battery's spec's. well worth the money !!!
