UPDATE: I ordered a replacement of the same exact thing and unfortunately they lied about it working with Raspberry Pi. It does NOT. It is not compatible. I’ve tried this with the Pi5 and with multiple types of adapters (including one from this brand) and it does not work. I do not recommend buying this if you are looking for a Pi-to-monitor solution. — — — Original Review: I can’t believe this arrived opened. Not the outer package, but the seller’s product packaging was opened. The no-tamper sticker is gone, the box was literally open, and the inner plastic liner is ripped open! I ordered *NEW* and it arrived used and opened. That’s crazy, especially for a $28 cable! Now I have to be inconvenienced with starting a return, packing it back up, driving it out to a store to return it and then search to find another solution. I’m still without a solution after I waited for this to arrive. That’s so disappointing.

This cable was the perfect cable to use with my HP laptop and triple screen extension. When buying a cable to work between USB-C and HDMI, you must look for a UNI HDMI to usb-c video only or a bidirectional HDMI/usb-c. NOT USB-C to HDMI. It will not work

The single cable solution that ended up being far more convent than I expecyed! I've had this small portable monitor for a while, and while I love it for my laptop and steamdeck, (1 cord for power+video) Anytime I had to hook up to older hdmi only devices, it became a bit of a pain, I need (1) an HDMI to mini hdmi adaptor, (2) a standard hdmi cord, (3) a USB-A to USB-C cord to power the monitor. It was a bit of a mess in terms of wiring and trying to keep everything neat in the monitor case, But now with this fancy cable, I can get all the advantages of USB-C video devices now on my older devices, As long as the device can supply a decent amount of power, I can plug in this SINGLE CORD to the hdmi and USA-Ports, then I can simply attach my portable monitor to USB-c and it JUST WORKS! The cable it's self is fairly low power draw( ~0.33w) so pretty much anything should be able to power it! (except some older raspberry pis and similar devices, they tend to have abnormally low power usb ports) And as long as you're using a lower powered monitor, the host device should be able to power that too! I was able to even use my xbox360 with just the single cable attached to my 1080p portable monitor, and it seemed to work fine! There is a bit of an overmolding on the hdmi portion, but it still fit snuggly in the hdmi slot on my old console. So it's super easy to use, no software or driver required, good quality cable too, works great!

What I like: Ugreen is a reputable brand that I can trust connecting my devices too The cable is nylon braided but still has flexibility The resolution is clear and there’s no lag The length is perfect for my needs

Performs as described and intended. The construction didn’t give me any concerns. The ends did not heat up during use and fit all of the devices I tested it with. Good cable, it’s in the bag for use.

I was unable to get this cable to work on an LG UltraFine 4K 22" (22MD4KA-B) sadly. A handful of monitors fall under the LG UltraFine name but this is the one that outputted a resolution of 4096 x 2304 in a 22 inch screen. If that is the monitor you have I have not been able to get this cable working for me

Doesn't work

This handy cable will allow you to plug in a device supporting USB-C video into a legacy HDMI/DVI device. Worked perfectly fine in my limited testing*. Display was detected correctly by host device and it all ran with out a hitch. I was able to power the screen too using only this device making for a tidy setup. (* Unfortunately the guy at work with the fancy VR headset was fired so I was unable to test on that) NOTE: This is a DIRECTIONAL cable: --- HDMI TO USB-C VIDEO --- It's designed to go "the other way" and not the the "typical" way a USB-C -> HDMI adapter normally goes. Tested OK on Rpi, Laptop and PL4Y5TATI0N + Great quality cable with good length for USB-C part + Worked flawlessly with test devices (laptop. fussy Rpi setup) + Supports audio + Powers display via it's USB-C video + Detects display parameters and passes to HDMI part - USB-A provided for power, would have liked a USB-C
