Let there be light!
My sewing maching has a halfway decent light, but I wanted more, especially when sewing dark fabrics with dark thread. This little LED fixture works perfectly, giving me the extra light I need in just the right spot! I like that it has a dimmer switch to control the brightness level. I did use Command strips to install it rather than the included adhesive so I can remove the light without leaving any residue on my machine. The photos show before and after adding the light. I would highly recommend this product!

Great light, but the heat of my sewing machine causes the glue to soften and fail
This sheds a very bright (dimmable) light on the sewing surface of my machine. It has fewer wires than the LED strips I have also seen here. I cannot speak to the durability of the adhesion, nor the longevity of the product itself, but so far so good— I am quite pleased. One picture shows the sewing machine with its built-in light, and the other shows the sewing machine with this added light.ADDENDUM May 2020: I still love the light this puts out, but the heat of my sewing machine causes the glue to soften and then the light falls off.CUTEX: is there a fix for this?

Poor design and quality
Update: I down-graded this review. The Light was very bright which led me to originally give it 5 stars. The problem is that the heat of the light and/or machine causes the adhesive to release and the light to fall down, time and time again. After several attempts to get it to stick back up, the light would not go on because the constant falling off caused one of the wires to break. It is a poor design because of the adhesive, and the quality of the electrical connection is poor. I had purchased a second one for my portable machine but it does not fit well under the curved throat of the machine (it is rigid and doesn't flex to fit.) I am just waiting for the light to stop working (same adhesive problem).

Small light provides performs a big job!
This small light does its job and more. I bought it to enhance the lighting on my sewing machine. The stitching plate and presser foot have never been so well lit up! I have noticed less eye strain thanks to this inexpensive accessory! Better sewing accuracy too!

Sew in the Dark
As I am getting older I need more light to see when I'm sewing. My machine has2 LED lights in the throat and one by the needle. I installed my new LED which is a set of LEDs clustered together. Easy to install, just peel and stick. I put it right next to the ones that came on the machine. I knew it would help by was pleasantly surprised when I found it has a dimmer switch, I cranked it all the way up and can say I could sew in the dark with only this light on. It detaches at the cord in 2 places, making it easy to store when sewing on the go. I absolutely love this LED and have shown others.

It makes an older machine easier to use!
I have a couple of Bernina machines - one is a1030 and the tiny old-fashioned bulbs just don’t give off enough light. After I sewed into my finger on a challenging seam, I realized an LED light would probably make things safer and easier for my eyes. This unit attached to the machine easily with strong stick on holder tape, and the stick-on cord holders work well to keep the extra cords away from the work area. I’m very pleased with the quality of the bright light and ease of installation.

It's poorly designed.
I really needed better light for my sewing machine. I was thrilled to order this one. Unfortunately, no instructions. The pads to adhere the light to the machine were too weak and the cords soon (hours not days) fell off. There was no way to move the cords to readjust the light if needed. Cumbersome and unwieldy design. BIG disappointment, endless frustration and a waste of a lot of money!

Cutex (TM) Brand Domestic Home Sewing Machine LED Working Light
Excellent Light! Placed under throat of sewing machine. Love the fact that it "unplugs " close to the machine (cord separates into 2 parts). Put the control on the back of the machine, easy to turn on & off. Have had several types of these. This is far superior in brightness and ease to sew while attached.Only thing, it no longer fits into the hard case for travel because of the on & off switch. So if your machine travels with you, you might reconsider attaching the on/off switch somewhere else.
