Good value for the price
The chest of drawers is indeed solid oak but the back and sides and the drawer bottoms, are quite flimsy. They are like grainy hardboard. To anyone who is no good at self assembly stuff (like myself) I wouldn't bother ordering this. I would have paid £100 to have it pre-assembled but as it is, the flat pack contains what must be hundreds of screws, many of which I have never seen before. I've had this flat pack for about three days now and it's still a total mystery. I've done page 1 of the assembly instructions which is next to nothing really but the light is slowly filtering through.At this rate it will take me two weeks to assemble.The assembly instructions are not very clear and page 2 seems to be incorrect. I will however get there in the end because I never give up. I would say to the sellers though : provide a dearer option to have the product already assembled.UPDATE - I finished the assembly today so much faster than I anticipated but even if you knew what you were doing from the start, I think it would still take two hours minimum. It's very fiddly and it took me all evening just to assemble the drawers which is 90 screws and requires very careful screwing. You can't get botch it, you have to be very precise. The finished article looks pretty good but whether I would order another flat pack is doubtful.
