I like that this is very sturdy, feeling and makes me feel more secure with my door. My contractor that installed it said he was going to buy one for his daughters house because he was surprised by the sturdiness.

Easy installation. Used on a double door. Nobody will get in without a tremendous amount of effort.

I like this door brace, with my one criticism (why I'm only giving four stars) being that it provides no provision to lock the metal in place. If you have a french door with windows, what's to stop a thief from breaking a window and sliding the metal piece out, then opening the door? It seems like such a simple task to add two holes in the metal so that a master lock could be added, making this type of entry impossible. For doors with no windows this item works perfectly well, however.

Easy to install

I bought this to reinforce a french door. All french door locking systems are essentially worthless, so I wanted something for a little more security. I looked at essentially every one that was available, and bought this one. The metal is adequately thick. When installed, there is a slight bit of play in the sliding portion when it is deployed in the slot. However, with the more expensive (other brand) that fits tighter in the floor anchor, does not play, it does sit further back from the door rather than flush against it like this one. The only adjustment I made is I used longer screws in the floor anchor rather than the ones it came with. It is fully functional, and worth the money. I have been looking at this product and another way more expensive product to use to add security to my front door. I went with this one mainly for the price, rationalizing that if I didn’t feel it would be strong enough I would send it back and purchase the more expensive one. Well, I am very impressed with this Door Lock Brace. This is a very thick material, and there is NO way that anyone is going to force my door open with this installed. I did not have the tools necessary to install this on my tile floor, if your installing this on tile you will need a “Diamond drill bit, or called Tile Bit”, I had a Electrician friend, install mine, and he was very impressed with it and was going to order one for his door. It took him five minutes to install and he did use, in his opinion better screws than what was supplied with brace. My opinion, very surprised with the quality of this product for what I paid for it.

We bought one of these for each entry door in our home, four in all. After watching a video on how strong these are we were sold. Our thoughts, these will hold back an intruder long enough for us to prepare. Meaning a potential intruder will have to beat and bang on our door to gain entry, we'll hear that. And this devise is low and can not be reached by a person trying to reach in the door. The only down side, not this company's fault. The devise can't be put in place when you leave your home. We can set three out of the four, but the door we leave by has to have other security in place. Now if this company makes a product for windows, WOW, we'd be set. I fully recommend this security device. And these were very easy to install, take your time, get it right and you're set.
