I had a day to prepare for a presentation live stream with a camera I knew wouldn't work with my BMD switcher in 1080P30. This came overnight and I configured it on the job. It worked immediately after the first attempt at setting the dip switches. It's a little confusing when you look at it at first, but once you figure it out, it's plain as day simple. Set the dipswitches upside down, from right to left while looking at the chart. Now I had also ordered a decimator md-hx but it did not arrive in time. I am happy it turned out this way. This little BMD is half the cost and does the trick. Sure, it doesn't have an LCD display, it doesn't have an app to configure it, and some advanced scaling options that the decimater has, but it works for most applications and the setup is indeed fast. It auto detects your input from any format down to 640x480 and up to 1080p60 and outputs to any format from 720 and up to 1080p60. Very useful when incompatible video devices get connected to a switcher.

I have 1080p60 coming out of my Blackmagic ATEM Television Studio HD going into my streaming deck but I also wanted to send this signal to another room in the building with an older projector that only does 1080p30i. This is EXACTLY what I needed for that. I could loop out the signal unaffected to my streaming deck and then send it down the hall to the other room in the format that projector needed.The other room is 200 feet away and I have had no issues at all. I did have to go online to get the manual to figure out the dip switches, and it is true that some are not used/needed, but once we figured that out, boom... it worked flawlessly the first time and I hope it will continue for years to come. If it does not, I will update my review as I always do. So if you're reading this and there is no further update, it's still going!

i work at various bars with video matrix systems and most have some OLD TVs that don't like my HDMI laptop signal (it only outputs 1080p 60 Hz). These old TVs will not detect the signal or go crazy when i connect. Eventually I figured out that they work perfectly with HDMI 1080i (interlaced) signal. So I bought this to convert my laptop HDMI 1080p output to 1080i and they all work perfectly. No dropped signal, no latency...perfect solution.

The process of configuring the converter using a set of dip switches is straightforward and simple. It worked on the first try! A short, simple set of instructions are provided with the device. The settings required to output a variety of formats are also printed right on the device itself, avoiding the problem of the lost manual. The only slight drawback we could find was that the print is very tiny! This is a necessity to fit all the information in the small space available, and the drawback is easily overcome by good eyesight or a magnifying glass.We were under strict time constraints with this project, and were very pleased with Safe Harbor Computers prompt response. The item shipped almost immediately, and arrived within a few days.

I bought this so I could play modern systems on my BVM monitor with an SDI but no HDMI slot. My BVM has 1080i, but not 1080p and the Xbox One only has 1080p/720p support, so this converted the 1080p to 1080i and the results are stunning.For others thinking about doing the same, this device doesn't strip the HDCP, so in order to get a PS3, Xbox one, other modern consoles, you'll also need an HDMI splitter to strip that protection before putting it into this. I bought a cheap OREI splitter off Amazon and it worked great.

I love this product. Bought it to connect my laptop to a video production unit (hdmi to sdi) and it worked.I did find the dipswitch key printed on the device abit difficult to understand at first interms of which direction is on/off and also found it a bit hard to actually manipulate the actual switches, but once I got it to work.....IT WORKS perfectly, every time. Even though it made it hard to manipulate the dipswitches, i love that they are recessed into the device to prevent accidental changes.

Perfecto, la marca es garantía de buen producto y así lo he comprobado muchas veces. En este caso necesitaba convertir una señal de HD 1080p a 1080i y con este descalador/escalador se hace de una manera muy sencilla.

This solved my video production camera compatibility issues for me. Though the configurations on the converter might be old, the installer has a more accurate instruction manual in pdf that has the various combinations for the desired output. If you are into video production, this will save your life and time. This is my second purchase.
