Great sound, compact size
These little speakers pack a punch. Everything sounds great with them.

One Speaker Doesn't Work
Well, both speakers sounded great.... for a short time. One speaker is already dead. What a waste.

A Bit of a Disappointment
Back in the day, when I ran a recording studio in NYC, I had a few pairs of near field monitors. My favorites were Tannoy PBM-8 which were powered by an Alesis amp. It was a dream setup because I needed no eq to balance them the audio. Whether I was listening to hip hop or freestyle, rock or jazz, Steely Dan or David Benoit, everything sounded great.Fast forward to now. You'd think that Alesis, having been in the pro audio business as long as they have, would produce a better, more balanced, set of near fields than these. Yeah, for 3" drivers, they're pretty bassy. But that's the problem. The entire package is just too bassy. Gone are the sizzles and sibilance which makes tracks stand out. And I'm talking about via the USB, all digital, hookup from my computer. When I hook them up to the headphone out jack, they're just too bassy and noisy. Completely unusable for a professional situation. Sorry, guys. Back in the water for you. Maybe a simple bass and treble eq built into the units might help. Maybe not.

Losing sound constantly
The speakers stop working so you have to unplug the usb cord from the pc and plug it back up constantly

Update...broke in less than 2 months.
Update: Even though they are sitting at my computer and being used only once and a while, the power switch has broken. (no "click" for on or off, no power)And here, I thought Alesis quality might have improved. I'm done with this company.I've owned both the 330's and 320's. The 320's output more volume for the same amount of power and have a noticeably brighter and full-range sound compared to the 330's. However, the construction quality of the 330's is better than that of the 320's making them more durable. This is really typical of products made by Alesis before they went bankrupt in 2001 (the 320's) and after they were after they were acquired by Jack O'Donnell. (the 330's) The old Alesis was a great design company with suspect manufacturing. O'Donnell mostly took pre-existing products from Asia and rebranded them using the Alesis name or simply kept producing the stuff that was designed before he bought the company.

Value for money
The most attractive feature is the inbuilt USB sound card which can be directly connect to any system and can be played it you don't have a dedicated audio hardware.

Toller Sound, toller Preis
Das, was an Bass rüberkommt, reicht völlig!
